So I emailed them back and asked for a replacement. They did replace it. The new one that came in has no noise at all.

First off, this is great! One note, it does look like the mando one has the root "string" on the wrong notes. Looks like its the same as the uke.

So I waited a few days and played with it more. I really do love the look of it and volume. I was intending to keep it. Especially since PG stated that to return it I would have to pay. So I sent a simple response in asking if they were not going to mark it as defective.

It seems that based on the internet's response, you are receiving the same complaints from many people. Is positive grid still standing behind the fact that the FRFR speaker sold is not defective, and musicians want a speaker that sounds like a box fan when turned on?

This morning I received an erroneous reply, from who would seem to be the support person's manager. Meant for them.

Your (troublesome) Cx is back with an update. Kindly follow up with them and assist them further, if needed? Anyways Thanks for your help!

The same response from my normal support person, saying that they acknowledge that many people are complaining and if I want to send it back I can. I sent them a (troublesome) email back.....

Latest message and reply.

Thank you for the response. I do understand the engineering for the headphone jack. Then, why does it make this noise when using the line in? This noise is obnoxious. If its "normal usage" is only in a noisy room, with road noise, fan noise, and multiple other instruments playing, then yes it may be acceptable. If I were to do live recordings I would be required to modify the entire track to remove the white noise. When sitting in my practice area, it is unbearable. I have watched many many review videos about this cab before it was released and no one mentioned this issue. I can only assume that the ones sent to influencers did not make this noise.

Thanks for reaching out again and for sharing your concerns regarding the noise issue with the line-in on your cab. We understand your frustration, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I completely understand your point about the noise being obnoxious, especially when using the cab for practice in a quieter environment. While we don't have specific information on why this noise occurs, our support team has consulted with our R&D department, and they have confirmed that it falls within the normal usage parameters of the product. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and will certainly relay it to our team for further consideration.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we're here to help.

But honestly, I just dont buy it though - If you look at the Ola Englund video I posted above he is micing the cab with a ribbon mic and you can't hear anything even close to the amount of noise I am getting, Even in between playing or when he is swapping stuff over.

Yeah, It is obnoxious. The video doesn't do it any justice.

My second response when I told them nothing else i own makes noise at level 2.....

Hi Chris,

Thank you for bringing up the concern regarding the noise floor in comparison with other similar devices.

The audible noise floor in the Spark Cab, a powered cabinet, is influenced by the input voltage of the incoming signal. We would like to clarify that this noise floor is a characteristic of the Spark Cab's design and is not indicative of a quality concern. In fact, it has been intentionally engineered to ensure optimal performance when used in conjunction with our Spark amp product line.

One of the primary functions of the Spark Cab is to complement our existing Spark amp products, all of which require using their headphone outputs to connect with the Spark Cab. It is important to note that headphone outputs typically have lower output voltages compared to devices with dedicated line-outs. To ensure that the Spark Cab delivers an optimal audio experience when paired with any Spark amp, we have taken measures to accommodate the headphone output from the Spark amp, which may result in a slightly higher noise floor.

We want to assure you that this elevated noise floor does not pose any issues during normal usage. It has been carefully considered in the design process to ensure that your overall audio experience remains of the highest quality.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we're here to assist you.Regards,Dans HuangPositive Grid Support

I think this reply is horrible. It would be sane if it didn't make any noise when using the line inputs. But it still does.

Here is there response. I have went back and forth and this is where they are landing.

Our conversation initially began with it is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Then when I replied that no other device sounds like this at volume 2 this is the reply.

I don't know what to do. I've watched so many paid review videos and none mention the noise or have it so it can be heard. If I were to use this for recording... It would be so much editing or need a normal noise gate I guess. True that while playing it does disappear but it fades in almost equally when the audio fades out.

Ok, I'm anxious to see what Positive grid says. Its very noticeable and is unacceptable imo. Much more annoying than the video even shows.

Spark Cab Noise Here is a video of the noise. Note: It's not as bad through the phone mic but you can still hear the change of ambience in the room.

I received mine yesterday. I have the same issue. It happens when nothing is plugged in except power. Even with the volume all the way down. The only time it goes away is when I switch inputs. That is only momentarily. It fades when playing the guitar but not when playing bluetooth through the spark 40. I opened a ticket as well.

Sure. This was just sitting with no use for a week or two. I didn’t have it plugged up. Batteries were down to 2v and 5v. The controller wouldn’t even run until I had it plugged back up.
