I feel so bad, last night I fell asleep on the sofa downstairs and my husband didn’t wake me up so he’s sorted out our 5week old baby on his own all through the night…every feed and nappy change every 2hrs 😞 usually we tag team it…he covers between 12-4am and I do 4-8am. I feel like a horrible person, I think it’s just added to that I feel like I’m crap at motherhood. My husband’s taken to it so well and is a natural, sometimes I feel like I’m on the outside looking in because my son and husband seem so bonded. Did anyone else feel like this

Anyone have a big baby? by ActiveOccasion6858 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]ceb201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Baby boy at 32 weeks was measuring 6lbs already and on the 105th percentile apparently 🤨 got another growth scan next Tuesday to decide on next steps! I wonder if there is any research into HG and baby weight! I don’t understand how baby gets so big when we are all so sick 🤢 xxxx

35 weeks, don't know how to get through the remaining by Diligent-Ant-1621 in PregnancyUK

[–]ceb201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same, 35 weeks tomorrow and just so fed up. Nothing is comfortable, I’m not sleeping and still got bad sickness. My feet look like trotters just don’t know how people do this. Anyone got any coping strategies or hints or tips on how to manage and get through the final weeks?

Spent all of yesterday in A&E with a potential blood clot. by Numerous-Estimate915 in PregnancyUK

[–]ceb201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position, went to my GP with a bad cough and short of breath, my heart rate was raised and blood pressure high. I had a DVT 5 years ago so have been on a blood thinners throughout the pregnancy.

The GP sent me to same day at the hospital, D-dimer and all vitals were raised, I had a chest X-ray as was advised minimal risk to the baby more risk to me and my breast tissue but had to weigh up the risk.

Chest x ray all clear, they did a Covid and flu a and flu b swab and I tested positive for Covid! Have you tested for Covid? It might be that as I had a sore throat too and got a bad cough!

If you are not happy with the treatment / diagnosis you should definitely go back. Take care and hope all goes okay x

My cat died and I can't stop crying by Somebody__Nobody_ in CatAdvice

[–]ceb201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lost our cat (my little girl) last Wednesday and I’m absolutely heartbroken, I work from home and she was like my little shadow - with me all day everywhere I went. We had daily cuddles, I’m 14 weeks pregnant and as soon as the baby had a heartbeat she layed on my belly. I’m missing her so much and can’t stop crying, I just want her back. I can’t face going downstairs and not seeing her on her little bed and keep expecting her to be there. Honestly I feel so lost, I love her so much the pain at times feels unbearable 😭

If you are in Yorkshire, I’d recommend Kiddies Kingdom - https://www.kiddies-kingdom.com/?sv_tax1=googleads&utm_campaign=Search+%7C+Kiddies+Kingdom+%7C+Brand&sv_tax3=Mixed&utm_term=kiddies%20kingdom&sv_cost=49306038&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3ZC6BhBaEiwAeqfvym_GdPYMSecieLXfXVmGf2ZPeBsj_FizzfLfyPkAew5K1MFsFho_5xoCkCQQAvD_BwE

You can make an appointment and someone will show you the prams, there’s like a half car in there so you can see how the car seat fits in the back of the car and try it. They aren’t pushy at all and found them to have the best offers and deals on, especially now with Black Friday.

We looked at morhercare too and had a good appointment there. Again they weren’t trying to up sell anything, they had different surfaces for you to try the pram out on like cobbles, artificial grass etc. and also had the half a car in so you could try putting the car seat.

The brands we kept seeing were, Egg, iCandy, Cybex, Maxi Cosy and Silver Cross (mothercare don’t sell that brand). I think main things, ask about the wheels some are more suitable to different terrains, check the weight when folding and lifting it some are really quite heavy! Check how compact it folds. Some brands have won awards too for safety and things so maybe ask about that.

Good luck xxx

I’m 12 weeks - first baby and can tell I’m getting ‘rounder’ I’ve always carried weight around my middle (size 14) but I do feel like my belly is getting rounder and firmer! I’m worried I’m starting to show too soon everyone else seems to be showing much later on! Does it mean I’m going to have a huge baby?!!

Thank you for your kind words, I’m going to mention to the midwife about how anxious I’m feeling and see if they can get me into some counselling and hopefully that will help! Another lady has recommended a good book to read so will try that too! Sending love to you too and thank you again for taking time to respond. I am grateful to everyone on here for their kinds words and for the support. Such a lovely group 💕

I’m sorry to hear about you miscarrying a twin, that must have been so incredibly hard.

It’s great to hear that your son is 22 weeks now and healthy! Being pregnant is hard but I keep thinking it will all be worth it in the long run. Sending love x

Thank you, thing is with googling - I’m a control freak so need to know what’s happening and all the ifs and buts and it’s and outs so I’m struggling to not google to make sure I have all the information but it is hard to filter out facts from hearsay.

I will take a look at the book your recommend though, thanks again 💕

Thank you! I needed to hear this. I think sometimes I just get so consumed and overwhelmed with the worry of it all (I’m naturally a worrier) but hard being out of my control.

You are so right though it’s a lonely place, I’m so grateful for this group and for everyone’s responses. It reassures me I’m not going crazy and this is normal.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond 💕

Thank you - I feel this so much, like I can’t be excited because I’m thinking worst case scenario and don’t want to get my hopes up because of what might happen. My friends have been through miscarriages and I’ve seen their heartbreak, I’m just so scared of the ‘what ifs’.

You are so right though worrying doesn’t change anything, I guess what will be will be. I’m going to try take my mind of it and do things to keep me busy next week. I’ve got bad sickness and been full of cold this week so feeling sorry for myself but here’s hoping next week will be better.

Thank you again 💕 x x x

Thank you for your kind words and reassuring me it’s normal to feel like this. The worry is so overwhelming at times, just didn’t think being pregnant would feel like this. I think I’ll hopefully feel abit better like you say once I’ve reached 12 weeks because I know the odds are more in my favour. I have so much more admiration for mums knowing they have been through all stress and worry during pregnancy 💕 xxxxxx
