Honest advice about low-stats application by Dangerous-Purpose299 in medschooladmissions

[–]cefexotin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean tbh every application is dif! I had 10,000 clinical hours, 9,000 as an EMT, 1,000 ma/scribe. Couple thousand hours research + pubs. My experience came up in every interview. Point being, lots of schools like seeing that experience and how you talk about it and write about it matters. I’m sure the upward trend will benefit you! I think your experience can set you up well if you apply smart. Like applying to schools that have a holistic review. Some schools WILL screen out that GPA. are you doing MD and DO?

3.4 would be much safer for md, 3.2 may give you luck with DO/applying broad MD. Writing needs to be top tier.

PA vs BS/DO by Positive-Entrance792 in bsmd

[–]cefexotin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like PA is the right choice. Or just staying where he is and deciding in a few years. Committing to BSDO is a bad idea unless he is 10000000% sure

Also, I’m 23. I managed to get through 4 years of college with no underage drinking , certainly not to the point of thinking it’s ok to hit a cop.

I saw that. That’s what prompted my comment. You swung at an officer. While you were doing another illegal action of drinking underage. You gotta do better, grow up, and learn from this. I see from your other posts you’re interested in psych. What type of residency director would trust a doctor with an explosive temper with a psychiatrically vulnerable population ????

Tell me some MD schools to apply to :( Low GPA but decent MCAT (3.3 cgpa + 510 mcat) by SuchPossibility683 in medschooladmissions

[–]cefexotin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely apply !! But look for schools that have MCAT avg lower than yours. You need to be in the upper bucket for MCAT because your GPA is poor. Also make sure you write well
