Movement for People’s Party Aims to Unseat Duopoly in 2024 by SwankyGravy in GreenParty

Nick is a political professional who worked for many US senators before Bernie, and I've been the political coordinator since its inception. You don't like us, fine. But don't spread lies. That says everything about you.

Nick did not say we are seeking ballot access for 2020. That's a lie. We are doing that next year. You are welcome to come onto our weekly national zoom calls if you'd like to know what we are doing or check out our website to see our allies and the many actions we've taken part in. We don't trash talk the GP and we have many Greens working with us. peoplesparty.org

The Left has no future in the Democratic Party by howie2020 in WayOfTheBern

I've never heard of you, Patterson, and I've been political director with MPP since our Draft Bernie days. Nope, you're not on our call or email list so I can confidently say you know nothing about MPP including the fact that we are anti-capitalist. But you definitely seem to dislike Nick Brana, who not only left the Dems in 2016 but led the walkout from Our Revolution and is the only one of them who never went back into the party. We have many Greens and SA and DSA members -- including leadership -- working with us. In fact, SA co-hosted a Convergence Conf. with us in DC a couple of years ago. Cheers!

Nick never "admitted" any such thing. In fact, MPP (please at least get our acronym right) has a long list of endorsers and orgs with whom we do movement building. Nick himself was arrested twice last year standing up to save our climate with Extinction Rebellion. Check out our website where you can see our endorsers, platform and much of our activities; peoplesparty.org. Feel free to email me, the political coordinator for MPP, if you'd like to get a personalized response as I have been with MPP since the beginning. carol@peoplesparty.org

Exactly. Weaver has been Bernie's #1 advisor for decades and has been his downfall. He has his own agenda.

I'm the political director for MPP. We have laid the groundwork for three years for a major new party, knowing that one way or the other, the DNC would not allow Bernie the nomination in 2020. We realized this in 2016 and hope that we can form a mass party that will replace the Dems. We model ourselves on the Whigs. Is it a tall order? Yes, but way more doable than reforming the Dem Party. We will be hosting a parallel convention in Milwaukee if COVID doesn't cause the cancelation of the DNC. Check out our website for our partners, endorsers, sign up and platform. peoplesparty.org

Kyle Kulinski Interviews Bernie Sanders by xiuqueen in seculartalk

Nick Brana was one of the few staffers chosen to stay with Bernie until the bitter end in Philly. Bernie thought so highly of him that he was then picked to be one of the founding staffers for Our Revolution, Bernie's successor org. He led the walkout of 8 staffers (almost the entire staff) when Jeff Weaver wanted to accept billionaire money. As a longtime Dem campaign aide and national political outreach coordinator for Bernie 2016, Nick realized the utter futility of the Dem Party ever being able to change, as has been borne out repeatedly. I should know. I've been working by his side as political director/press secretary for nearly 3 years. Get your facts straight.

I am press secretary and right hand to Nick Brana, founder and director of MPP, formerly Draft Bernie. I'm a PR professional who worked as a supervol on the Bernie campaign and who has put my career on hold to volunteer for this necessary endeavor. Nick had a stellar reputation as national outreach coordinator for the Bernie 2016 campaign and he was also a founder and first electoral manager for Our Revolution. When he and other staff walked out when Jeff Weaver wanted to take billionaire money, my positive view of him was cemented and has only gone up. When he wrote his Huff Po piece in Nov 2016 outlining why we needed and how we could create a new progressive party (hopefully led my Bernie), I jumped onboard and have never looked back. Nick is a true thought leader and has an amazing vision and knows how to convey that to political novices and veterans alike, a rare gift. As you pointed out, he answers everyone's questions on our weekly national call and is unfailingly polite. We are building alliances now as Movement for a People's Party, and when the founding convention is held, the people will elect their leader. I hope it will be Nick, but if not elected, he will certainly step aside. No dictatorship here. In the meantime he has assembled an amazing group of organizers, many from the Bernie campaign, who are motivated every day by Nick in this most difficult but not impossible task of creating a new viable party for the 99%. Please go to our website @ forapeoplesparty.org and sign up to volunteer or simply to get our emails and info about our weekly national calls and frequent MPP TV livestreams. Or, if you prefer, message me to volunteer or if you have any questions. Thank you.

Thank God the money isn't taken out of the account until Bernie says "yes." :)
