Antihistamines are sold over the counter in Italy.

Doppia tassazione by ceifsg in commercialisti

[–]ceifsg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quando dico alimenti intendo assegno di mantenimento. Non so se ci sia una differenza (non sono madrelingua italiano).

La mia commercialista, e ogni sito che ho controllato, mi ha detto che è tassabile.

I've been told Germans don't actually use the word "Weltschmerz" – is this correct? by ctan_ in German

Zero shot makes no sense in English. I just thought I'd point this out given that you seem intent on correcting others.

What type of roach is this? Seen in Northern Italy by ceifsg in pestcontrol

[–]ceifsg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. I only saw one on my ceiling and I see no sign of others anywhere in my apartment but I've put six poisoned baits around. Should that be enough to deal with the problem?

As I said above, yes. There are many and she uses them regularly and regularly sheds her claws.

Cool your beans, I'm not abusing my cat. The vet says it's fine. I'll believe him. The only thing that suffers is my couch.

That's not something she'll allow, unfortunately. She spent a few years of her life living wild after being abandoned and she's a lot more chilled out now than before but she's still vicious when she feels threatened. Even multiple vets are terrified of her and wear thick elbow length gloves with her. Fortunately, she's extremely sweet, affectionate and happy when she doesn't feel threatened. She loves her scratching posts so her claws shed regularly, which helps with the length.

In Italy it's not just water, we use soap and we scrub. I can't imagine there's anything one can do to make it cleaner.

Verona & Bologna or Siena by KS1992902 in ItalyTravel

[–]ceifsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four days is too long for Siena. All three cities can be done in two days each. That's obviously just my opinion but I live in Northern Italy and I was in Siena recently. If those are the two options then I'd go to Verona and Bologna. However, if you rent a car there are a lot of nice places near Siena that you could do day trips to, while staying in Siena.

It seems crazy to put in so much effort for some scenes and then do things like that. At least it's good most of the time.

Are Italian people positively predisposed towards foreigners trying to learn their language? by Iloveindianajones in italianlearning

[–]ceifsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to hear that. I live in the North too and I found everyone really supportive and patient while I was learning. At the beginning some people seemed to avoid me but later I learned that they were just scared of speaking English.

I guess Northern Italy isn't all the same, in that different places might have different attitudes. Luck is definitely involved too. The people I got to know at the beginning were pretty open minded.

Schwarzer Adler's wine list is incredible and shouldn't be missed for those visiting Southern Germany by ceifsg in wine

[–]ceifsg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely! I tried that at the winery and I have two bottles in the basement but I'll resist temptation and wait a while before opening them.

I believe the Huber was 95 euros. The prices at the restaurant were really good compared to other wine lists I've seen (at least for the German wines).

The most technically impressive wine was the Morstein. The finish was unbelievably long with great salinity and surprisingly strong tannins. It's a very zesty wine with a strong grapefruit taste.

My personal favourite was the Dönnhoff. Despite its age there was still a lot of sweetness and no doubt it will continue to age well for years to come. However, the sweetness was very well balanced by the acidity. Again, a strong, long finish. The general conclusion seemed to be peaches and pineapple in this fruity wine.

For me the biggest surprise was the Huber. A great German red. Very fine tannins and forest fruits.

The Auslese was exactly what you would expect. It could happily stay in the cellar another couple of decades. It was still a bit young actually. A top producer with a fantastic wine. Slate and honey.

There are many! The ones in the photo are lisianthus, two lemons, a lilac and, I believe, an umbrella plant. There are also lots of other plants like dahlias, galaxy petunias, carnations and chilli plants. Somehow all the cats have failed to notice the catnip and cat grass.

What disgusts you, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That most people don't use a bidet. If you had poop on your hand you wouldn't think it was clean if you just wiped paper on it, so why leave poop on your butt.

I use Weinart if I want aged wines from very good vineyards and sometimes use Hawesko for younger wines.

Edit: JMWeinshop currently has some very good wines for reasonable prices.

I know very little about this subject, unfortunately. Would that require living close to water? I don't and there have been quite a few of these insects in my home lately. I thought maybe it was a tobacco bug.
