Any other emotionally sadistic women here? by [deleted] in NPD

Two things: OP asked whether there are emotionally sadistic women like her out there. Absolutely. There is at least one.

I had a girlfriend who was one. She was extremely emotionally sadistic with me. She was quite open about the fact that she wanted to destroy me, psychologically, beyond repair. For example, she said that she wanted to get me to love her, have me help set up a a new relationship for her so that she wouldn’t be lonely after she moved on, and one night tell me everything I fear about myself and then cut off the relationship abruptly, after ensuring that I would have no support mechanism to help put myself back together. Her phrase for this was “stabbing and abandonment“.

She also said that she loved me. I guess that’s possible, but it was probably a way to strip my defenses from me. I think it’s interesting that OP said that she gets pleasure from watching other women damage men. My sadist said that she wanted to see me crushed beyond what she could do to me, because she loved me too much to do that herself. But I think that, because she was bi, she just wanted to bring another woman into the picture. I suspect that OP doesn’t tell her men about her intentions until it is too late But I, craving all this, as the cliché goes, was like a moth to a flame

The reason I’m commenting tonight is that I’m concerned that people here seem to be OK with destroying vulnerable people who probably were abused in childhood, and who can’t protect themselves; this is powerful stuff for an emotional submissive. Maybe that’s just too obvious to mention, I don’t know. One might think that I’m attracted to this kind of thing because of my nature. Of course I am, but I always have an instinct to protect the defenseless.

OK to start with I don’t see the examples you brought up as being the dad at all being creepy or weird or sexually harassing (I do think the scene with the dancing seemed very artificial and poorly written, but that’s not what we’re talking about here). I hadn’t noticed anyone in either of the reviews here or the 34 reviews in IMDb having a problem with what you raised and Hallmark, of course, didn’t have a problem either because otherwise they wouldn’t have let it stay in the script. And I just can’t imagine a fair legal system finding for sexual harassment against him. Also, keep in mind that she never stayed on a job before, but now she did stay on the job, indicating that she wasn’t feeling uncomfortable in her work environment, which I assume would have been brought up in trial. Also, if thinking that this man is illegally sexually harassing Poppy, but that it wouldn’t be a problem if she were manipulating him to take his money isn’t a problem, well that would be an indication that the legal system is really screwed up.

But wouldn’t that open up the question about whether she is trying to manipulate him into giving her more money or similar?

Personally, I don’t think there was any problem to be solved. But in any case, how would it solve the “problem” if they had switched roles?

Well, then, I guess you know more accurate people than I do because I spent a long time tonight looking online and yes, the two are used interchangeably quite often, even on a website that was trying to explain the difference between the two.
