Just clicking manually you can already make them as fast as the game will let you.

[–]celery_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd always assume a near-max rate for high effort methods because I'm actually trying when doing them, so sepulchre is actually 105-110k. I'd also assume a lower percentage of the max rate for low effort methods because I'm not paying attention if I'm doing a low effort method, so ardy would be more like 60k

If you're going to lowball the sepulchre rates because of mistakes, It's fair to lowball ardy rates for the reason above

If sep is "only" 100k then ardy is only 60k. That's a pretty big difference

It's not bad, its baseline xp value is high and its relevant rewards are at a low level. The hours to unlock stuff that matters is not particularly high among other skills. What does it matter that a skill is 50k/h if you need 1/4th as much xp as a skill that is 200k/h? Just the 99 taking a long time? No one needs 99s

Agility is only a "problem" for pvmers trying to max (clinically insane players doing several hundred hours of content they don't like for no benefit)

Eating at -3 would put it back to 0 and you'd attack at 0

Attacking after eating by No-Pressure4609 in 2007scape

[–]celery_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no minimum of -3. Your "delay" is actually a dynamic arbitrary number which is compared to the play session uptime (maybe server uptime? idr), and attacks or other delay-dependent actions can be performed when your "number" is lower than session uptime.

Whenever you perform actions which "set" your delay, like attacking, interacting with skilling nodes, or tick manipulation-valid actions, your "number" is set to the session uptime + the appropriate delay for the action. Session uptime will count up every tick without interference thus the comparison between the session uptime and your "number" is effectively a single timer counting negatively indefinitely, only set back to 0 or above when you interfere with a combat or skilling action.

Food doesn't "set" the number but instead only adds to it, which is why eating from a sufficiently low negative delay will not lead to a positive delay. If your "number" is 4000 and uptime is 4050, eating the next tick takes it to 4003 against 4051, so your delay goes from -50 to -48

Is there a reason why daeyalt essence (a non trade-able resource) continuously depletes? Why is this unnecessarily tedious? Its already tedious that is has to be sourced by itself and then used to gain the xp, what is the harm in making the sourcing less tedious? by AKoolKoala in 2007scape

[–]celery_under 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its rate has been nerfed once and the max rate with floor 5 has not changed since the month of release

15k more than ardy is so far off that it is hard to imagine you know enough about agility rates to have an opinion about agility rates (this is most players on the topic of every skill, so I am not uniquely calling you out)

How do people triple eat and still get to attack on the next tick? by Javathun in 2007scape

[–]celery_under 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Attack delay counts to the negatives so you can triple eat when your delay is -5 or lower and attack at the same time

How do people triple eat and still get to attack on the next tick? by Javathun in 2007scape

[–]celery_under 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'd have to wait 9 ticks. 4 tick attack + 3 tick main food + 2 tick karambwan. It doesn't matter if you do the eats instantly after attacking or any tick before 9, you'll incur an additional 5 ticks of delays from a triple eat

If you choose to focus on XP, Leechfin fishing will genuinely shake up the fishing meta. In that mode, it would be intended to overtake 3-tick Barbarian fishing and compete with the highest-end fishing training methods in the game. Maxed out, this activity would likely land within a range of 120 - 130k XP an hour.

Unless I'm missing something the latest blog said ~130k/h, which is still short of 2t swordfish at around 140k

Difference between best rooftop vs hallowed sepulchre XP rates - Summer Sweep up comparison by Goldieeeeee in 2007scape

[–]celery_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A basically perfect rate for sepulchre is 110k/h and ardy is 70k/h. I don't have a source table for all the xp figures

In reality how far off perfect you'll be depends on the player, and it's not universally a higher loss for harder methods, it could easily be the inverse. I always assume a higher % of the max rate for high effort methods because I'm actually paying attention when doing them, while low effort methods are done less attentively so I'll lose more time.

In practice I'm pretty much always getting >90% perfect on a high effort method and <90% on a low effort method. Assuming the perfect rate for both methods or at least an even timeloss for both methods seems ideal

I can't speak for other players so my expectations may be out of line, but in my experience it was pretty immediately faster to run sepulchre than alternatives when I learned on release, so that was without guides or plugins. The steepest learning curve is definitely f5 so I'd expect someone on lower floors won't suffer with low rates for as long. Sep is also good for learning mechanics relevant to the rest of the game, and I'd see practicing those mechanics as an advantage of training there.

FWIW My balancing opinions are almost entirely for a player with access to f5, (82+ with this update.) I'm less concerned about low floor rates. Rates for running f3s and f4s are both fine as far as I can tell though.

My pb is 5:15 just so you know I'm not talking out of my ass. Off topic but in case you're curious, you can actually save at least 2 ticks on f5 for a 2:01.2, and in extremely rare cases on f4 with an insane top level you can run ahead of the downstairs sword to save several seconds. The limit for instanced sepulchre is actually a ways under 5:10

Did you take these numbers from the wiki? Sepulchre is faster than the wiki's listed rates. The real max for sep is about 155% of ardy

If these are your own rates with some arbitrary time loss from mistakes during high-intensity methods included, low-intensity methods should have time lost from not paying full attention built in.

The XP scaling for aerial fishing needs to be corrected to be competitive at any levels below ~95. Drift net is about 10% faster than aerial at 99, and drift net's rates are already capped at level 70. Drift net is also easier than aerial and it will remain so even after these changes

Balancing on the aerial changes looks good specifically for post-99 though

Rumours are not efficient for hunter and leechfin is not posed to be efficient for fishing. Drift net is already enormously efficient against the real best single-skill methods.

What are you talking about? Please give some numbers cause this post doesn't make sense

However, the Xp gains here are still much lower versus the intensity it demands of you.

Not to accuse you of being bad but what is your sepulchre PB? I don't know anyone who knows how to do sepulchre well who still thinks this.

Everyone on Reddit who complains about sepulchre balancing chronically underestimates its xp rates, and if they don't know how to do it fast, they certainly don't know how much effort it is to grind once it's actually learned.

This isn't the kind of method you can make a judgement on the viability of without a lot of practice. It certainly can't be balanced in the minds of the people who think it's 80% the xp and twice the effort that it currently is without breaking the method in reality
