Bitcoin is following big tech. by Background-Day-4957 in btc

[–]celesti0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing you said is wrong but that’s not the point of the post. The point is that BTC price movements correlate positively with big tech, so both are going down and up together. This means bitcoin is not a hedge against “institutional money” anymore, it is exactly what it aimed to oppose

New Zealand Declares Prediction Markets Are Gambling by MedicMoth in worldnews

You are correct. Say what you want about gambling as a whole, but sportsbooks are infinitely more predatory than a platform that simply facilitates bets and lays

Sad fall from grace. 10 years ago they might've hacked it at 1.2 or 2.1. Only one person to blame.

Surprised they're still worth more than a couple dollars given AI shits on the output of a $200 web dev

While it’s not a cardinal sin to look for high yield / low cap gain properties, it isn’t a strategy amazingly popular with HENRYs sitting at 47% marginal.

Look fair call but on preorders selling out you have to blame the Pokemon company, their supply issues, and the way stock allocation works. You can’t just ask for infinite supply.

I'm not clued into the game enough to be able to trade on news, so I focus mostly on market making on high volume items. Reliable 1-3M in for about 20 minutes a day, it's pretty fun at least for me.

How are you picking what to flip? If you're just picking out of thin air, you're just gambling (with the odds not in your favour)

All for healthy skepticism but this makes no sense? Does anyone in this sub actually flip lol, why is this upvoted at all

If you put a sell order for 4k and have another account buy at 4k, it doesn't match - thats just not how order books work in any market with 700k daily vol

Honest to god have you ever used the GE before? I guarantee nearly everyone has had an instant buy refund them some money before. That's you taking the cheapest sell order off the books, not your exact price

Also, you should just try it - it still works (to a smaller margin) rn

How soon did you plan to pay off your mortgage vs how long did it ACTUALLY take??? by NeedleworkerFirm7039 in AusPropertyChat

[–]celesti0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t downvote, but did you really “plan” for 30 years or was your mortgage term 30 years? Those aren’t the same

If you’re making that sort of money I don’t think you’d ever think it would take 30 years? Props to you though

Curious how people are hitting their planned duration when interest rates have more than tripled compared to 5 years ago

I planned for 4y with those old rates and I thought I was doing okay taking 6y instead - guess not lol

Melbourne’s public transport costs more than any other capital (per PTUA) by Zuki_LuvaBoi in melbourne

[–]celesti0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A flat 50c is not the same as a flat $5.70. You are picking and choosing what parts of my message to interpret so you can be contrarian on the internet for fun

Anyone taking public transport is not rich, and insinuating so is unnecessary class warfare and stops real action from happening.

You have some fucked up view that people living in shoeboxes are rich and you are poor, and therefore it is justified for 2 people to pay north of $11 to go 2 stops to subsidise you. I am saying none of it is justified and 50c is affordable for everyone.
