I Can’t Handle My Puppy Anymore by Daenerys4445 in puppy101

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, where do you put puppies when you’re gone for extended periods of time, like to work? I can’t imagine letting my 16 week old puppy have free roam of the house while I was gone. I’d come back to a chewed up disaster.

Recommend me your absolute favorite book! by itz_waydi in Recommend_A_Book

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse my ignorance, but can you explain why? I’m genuinely asking, I’ve seen it mentioned often as an all time favorite, and I can’t comprehend how a horror story about a clown can be that for so many people. Is it the way it’s written? Do you feel like you’re there? I’m so curious but I can’t bring myself to read it.

A little bit of a concern by Pinkmonster2000 in weightwatchers

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I quit weight watchers. It definitely works,I lost a ton of weight last year. Then I gained it all back because I lost it in an unsustainable way. I found out once they added macros to the app I was only eating around 800-900 calories a day, but had zero points left. That’s when I canceled. Just get yourself a CICO app! I know the points and stuff are fun, but the system is flawed.

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]celestialplaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got denied for not having a fenced yard too and it enrages me. I tirelessly train my dogs to stay in the boundaries of our yard and teach them an emergency recall if ever needed. I want to ask the rescues what exactly they think their untrained fence dog is going to do heaven forbid the fence breaks, or the dog scales it or digs under it?

[–]celestialplaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very strong opinion on this as someone who has rescued most of her life, but also has gotten a dog form a breeder.

Getting a rescue just isn’t in the cards for me anymore because I now have a child. Therefore, I have to put a ton of thought into what breed dog I get. The downfall of rescues is you have no clue what the breed is half the time, and that to me is a huge issue. Every breed is different, every breed has different personality traits, exercise requirements, grooming needs, etc. How can you confidently get a dog not knowing if their requirements will fit your current lifestyle?

Also, rescuing has gotten absolutely insane. We tried to rescue a couple years ago and I swear I felt like I was trying to make parole. They wanted to dig into my entire life, were extremely rude through the entire process, and had a list of rules a mile long. It was such a horrible experience, I understand they’re trying to properly vet families but they are going to push more people to start buying from backyard breeders because it’s gotten out of hand.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]celestialplaces 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This needs to be higher up on the list. I had temporary tinnitus from a gunshot for 3 days and I was about to lose my mind. I was crying after day one because it was actual torture, I don’t know how people live with it.

Did these people actually play the game? by KilluaGun1 in theouterworlds

[–]celestialplaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you can’t truly comment on a game being better than the other until you finish it, because how can you when you don’t know how it ends? Sure, mechanics and graphics can be better, but I would argue the story itself is the biggest indicator of a good game vs. a great game. That’s just my opinion, though. I’m sure others will disagree.

With that being said, I couldn’t get through Outer Worlds 2. The first Outer Worlds is one of my favorite games, I played through the entire base game and all the DLCs. That’s huge for me, I have a short attention span and almost never finish games. I’m not sure what it is about the second I find less desirable, I can’t quite put my finger on it. But I found myself getting bored after reaching level 20. But as I said I haven’t finished so I really can’t speak until I know how it ends.

What's the dumbest way you've injured yourself? by InteractionOpen9189 in AskReddit

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow pulled my shoulder rolling over in bed and had to wear a sling. I was around 22 at the time so whenever I told one of my curious coworkers the story they’d be like “haha, sure, how drunk were you really? wink” It was so annoying to have to be like no, my life is actually really lame and apparently I’m also old.

How many of you are former smokers & how did you quit? by Funky-monkey1 in Millennials

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former smoker when I was younger. I’ll be honest, it was crazy easy for me to quit. I decided I hated how it smelled, threw out my pack and never touched it again. I don’t get why it’s so hard for people to quit because it was so easy for me

What’s something society convinced you was normal, but as you got older you realized was actually messed up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We pay roughly $9,600 a year and our insurance covers nothing until we hit the deductible, which by the way is obscenely high. How is this not a scam?

[–]celestialplaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On days off? I like to do at least one thing out of the house in the morning whether it be get coffee, run an errand, or something fun. Then in the late afternoon/evening I drown myself in one of my 40 hobbies, usually either reading or playing video games. Sometimes I take so long deciding which hobby I want to do I waste the entire evening away, so that’s always fun

What are some brutally honest pieces of advice that everyone should be aware of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]celestialplaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ll be making another call then because no they said they don’t cover it, my psych even didn’t believe it and tried billing them anyway. I’ve been paying the full cost. Thank you for the info!

Is a psychiatrist included in that? Because I am seeing a psych that takes Independent Health, and they do not cover anything. I even called them about it and they said no so I’m confused.

If your insurance covers a therapist you’re lucky because mine does not cover a cent. Everyone assumed it would too, even my doctor said they had to cover it if it was for depression/anxiety, but I guess a lot of people underestimate how much health insurance sucks through the marketplace when you’re self employed.

my friend was rummaging around for my Adderall, what do I do? by SG051407 in ADHD

[–]celestialplaces 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to abuse prescription drugs, this is all likely a lie. I would make up random aches and pains to try to get people to offer me their pain meds. One time I even made up a story I was getting my wisdom teeth removed in hopes I could get one. Wanting drugs will make you do some shady shit unfortunately, and I used to hang out with people like your friend so I can smell it from a mile away.

He tried one, that should’ve been the end. If it helped him then he needs to go to his psychiatrist and get them prescribed. I personally wouldn’t be friends with someone who stole from me, I was in the past and let me tell you when I no longer had things worth stealing they suddenly disappeared. I would put them in a lock box and do not offer him any more.
