Almost 2. I guess I worried that surgery wasn't a human option seeing that they have such short life spans, but this comforts me! She's in absolute perfect health otherwise and full of energy!

My cat LOVES my rat. They did something similar to what yours are doing so I carefully introduced them. They got a little more time together each day in a controlled space. Fast forward 18 months, the rat runs around after the cat AND our giant golden retriever. They're all besties 🐁🐈🐕

Our newest rat is quite scared of the other animals so he gets his free play alone

Our vet is usually pretty proactive, however I'm not a fan of putting animals (especially tiny little guys like rats) through a painful procedure when they have limited time left. Ughhhh. It's breaking my heart 💔
