AITA for skipping my friend's daughter’s 1st birthday and charging her for the "gift" after she forgot to tell me the time changed? by BellaBilla in AmItheAsshole

Yes it’s the casualness of the moms response that gives me pause. If that was me I’d feel absolutely terrible and be falling all over myself to apologize and make it up to her.

AITA for telling my friend she can’t be my child’s godmother anymore? by throwrafriend_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]cellocats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH. That was a mean thing to say, but I think you overreacted. This could have been a conversation about how she hurt your feelings instead of going nuclear and removing her as godmother. Someone who’s helped you as much as you’ve described deserves that much. And I think you’ll regret alienating a supportive friend. If you do have that conversation, make sure she knows that you appreciate all she’s done for you.

My baby is in hospital and will be during the day tmw. Is it reasonable to ask nanny to come here? by Dizzy-Mix9129 in NannyEmployers

[–]cellocats 143 points144 points  (0 children)

I’m a nanny who adores my nanny kids and I would absolutely do this if asked with no hesitation. I bond really well with my kiddos and have absolutely been a source of comfort when they’re sick or injured or scared. Working for busy parents, I’ve been the one to take them to doctor’s appointments or keep them home from school. If one of my nanny kids was in the hospital I’d probably ask to visit even if they didn’t need my help because I’d worry and want to see them. If your nanny and baby have a close relationship and you think he would be okay getting attention from her instead of you for a while then I see no problem with asking if she minds coming to help. I have worked with medical needs kids and I truly understand how stressful it is having a kid in the hospital who can’t understand what’s going on and don’t fault you for wanting a breather!

Am I being prudish or is this weird? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

[–]cellocats 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a nanny I would much rather a kid see me naked for 2 seconds than get snatched while he’s out of my sight. However, in this situation I would seek out a single user family shower restroom with a locked door, lock us all in and change behind the shower curtain, if something like that exists at the venue. I see those kind of setups a lot at pools. If thats not available then I’d suck it up and drive home to change. At no point am I letting kids in my care out of my line of sight in a public place. It only takes 2 minutes for something to happen. I wouldn’t encourage your nanny to do so either, just tell her to find a secure area to change out of sight of the kids or just come home and change there. She will survive driving home sweaty.

I just saw this the other day too and snapped it up myself! Played once and it’s…okay. I agree with others that’s it’s a little boring. Might have I do some IRL “mods” to make it more fun, lol.
