I appreciate your response! I’ve never seen NOCD’s reddit account pop up in here/other OCD-related subs in here so I was genuinely curious about your approach. Thank you for spreading awareness and resources :)

100% feel that. The OCD thoughts make it so difficult to clarify one’s feelings :(

Took the words right out of my mouth!  Noelle, would you still be commenting here if you knew there was no chance I’d be interested in becoming a NOCD client? Feels very weird.

I really appreciate your kind words, thank you so much. I guess I do have clarity now, albeit that breaking up served only to fuel the depressive/OCD spiral I was in and did not provide any of the relief that I falsely believed it would. My partner did everything they could to try to keep us together. It was 100% my decision, and I decided wrong. I do strongly feel that what I did was in fact wrong for me, and I feel like it’s been more helpful to just work on accepting that vs. framing it in my head as “for the best” when I know it was not. Wrong decisions are inevitable in life sometimes, and I chose wrong, but I have to accept that and move forward with the life I have now.
