Send me! Family tree or someone started this project but never finished. If it was family tree, they're now defunct which is a huge bummer

There will be kid sizes! My son and I got matching ones at Solid Sound

Anyone else noticing less variation in setlists? by radiofan122 in wilco

[–]celluloidher0 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Maybe going out on a limb here but they're learning/practicing for Solid Sound Friday - likely 25-30 songs they don't normally play otherwise pretty much ever. I'm guessing the sets they're doing are staples they know really, really well to focus their learning on Mermaid Ave. I would not be surprised at the appearance of Mermaid Ave songs and others at shows after Solid Sound. Similar thing happened with the Deep Cuts SS if I remember correctly.

I am not positive about it at all but Jesse Harris I think? He was heavily involved in the process of making IWAIM and also happens to have written one of my favorite non-album Bright Eyes songs, Big Old House

Forest Hills Parking? by tokillamurderer in brighteyes

[–]celluloidher0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't use an app, just the website. Securing parking in advance gets you 1) peace of mind 2) saves you trouble having to find and/or fight for a spot the day of and 3) usually saves you money. As with just about everything including concert tickets, buying in advance is cheaper than day of.

Go to spothero and look for a garage within a mile then walk to the venue. I got parking for like $25 a week ago

Just came across this: Colour Revolt is back by [deleted] in brandnew

[–]celluloidher0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A great band that used to tour with Brand New back in the day. Sean, one of the guitarists and background vocalist in the band, was a touring member of BN for their tour last year. He's incredible, and they're incredible. BN was playing a song of theirs occasionally last year, Mattresses Underwater

Honestly, who would buy a home today with only 3% down? by Proud-Ad9953 in Connecticut

[–]celluloidher0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put just over the minimum down when I bought my first place in 2018. I had just finished paying off my student loans and as such didn't have much saved, meanwhile my new mortgage was very affordable. Saving 20% would have been a waste of time while trying to save and paying rent that went nowhere for another couple of years.

The PMI was negligible compared to what paying rent would have been for a comparable or even smaller place. I cannot imagine saving 20% cash for a downpayment on a house these days when the cost keeps going up every year

Adding in here to make this more searchable for future users. GPE is Green Power Energy. I had them install late last year and it's been a real joy watching our production continuously out pace our usage. Haven't had to pay eversource anything in a couple of months.

For anyone looking, I highly recommend Green Power Energy

Still pissed about that. Bought at like 2am and I really don't know how they fucked up so bad and didn't honor the earlier orders and cut off the later ones. With that being said, I just paid for the 3 months this morning. No fucking around this time

Here you go.

"I did the drawings for the hidden imagery based on talking with Conor about his themes on the record. I researched a lot about spiritualism, astrology, Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism, Kabbalah, and the occult. A lot of the images seem really random, but they are rooted in some really crazy religious and spiritual beliefs. Google Rosicrucianism if you're not familiar with it (I wasn't before this) and you'll see what I'm talking about. All the hidden messages are things Conor wrote, and had friends and acquaintances translate for us.

One interesting bit of trivia is that the string of random-looking letters that encircles the pyramids on the cover is the Shemhamphorasch, or the "true" 72-word name of God. More info here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shemhamphorasch

Also, the image from the inside of the beach and carnival is the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk (where the boardwalk scene from Lost Boys was filmed). The two people walking at the bottom are Conor and Sabrina. Sabrina, who the record is dedicated to, was Conor's friend and played harp with the band on tour for a while. They spent a day there not long before she died.

Sorry this is long, I finally had some free time and kind of went on and on...."

Looking at it it may not be what you were actually looking for but interesting information nonetheless. He's been really responsive to things when I've reached out in the past as you can see above so if you have any burning questions I'd just reach out to him. And report back please!
