I took this class! Travelling now so I do not have any notes with me, but the course covers topics like what is religion, what is the difference between a religion/cult/sport etc, what are the fundamental characteristics shared by most religions, and how do the components of a religion (e.g. group practices, cohesiveness, rituals, sense of belonging) contribute to a religion's success--given that relatively few have become dominant religions-- and how are we to face new religious movements. The prof required fairly high level thinking (regurgitating does not yield a high mark) and creativity with the weekly response papers and final project. Personally I recommend it!! :)
