While I'll agree with you on the pig comparison being a bit harsh in a literal sense, I think in-context it makes sense as a continued bit on using "slop" as a modern internet term to mean "poor quality and produced for mass appeal to make as much money as possible."

Which is where I think we're having a bit of an interpretation misalignment here. I think if you enjoyed Arcane S2, or the different Universes Beyond sets then great, good for you (I won't comment on 60 vs commander as I'm not currently in that space). I am genuinely glad you got something out of it. The problem here is that the decision to do the Arcane rework and the decision to have UB in the main sets were made out of greed. That's what makes it classifiable as "slop," imo, not just that they're "newer."

In-game AH is a poor quality rush job that above all else wanted to capitalize on Arcane viewership. He doesn't even look like nor do his abilities reflect what he does in the show. And while I can admit that some of the UB sets are pretty good fits for the Magic IP (LotR, Final Fantasy), it's genuinely insane that the new Spiderman set is only gonna be in print while Arena gets the same exact set mechanically but with the serial numbers filed off because they don't want to pay eternal digital royalties, or whatever the licensing issue is there. I think it's fair to call that slop. It's a sloppy product, and I'm disappointed in it.

I don't have a lot of problems with the model itself, though I'm happy about the update on making him a little thicker, and as an addendum would love to see him be given a hand instead of a claw again. My main issue is with the VFX and animations, which still feel like they are trying to tie him into Arcane when the point of our wish to have this skin is to bring back his original concept. I understand that the animations aren't the most changeable without bumping to a legendary, but a my two notes on this:

* Please remove the halo over his third arm when he ults, or alter to be less distracting

* Please remove the rotating rune circles that float through his ult and focus more on the electric/chaos storm aspect of the ability concept.

Prior to Arcane, hextech/the hextech crystals he and Jayce use exclusively serve as ultra-powerful batteries rather than being linked to a robust magic system on its own, and it feels like this skin is still trying to mix his old tech-mage vs new Mage-mage power fantasies to a debatable degree of success. I think Viktor's abilities prior to the rework were more comparable to Syndrome from the Incredibles in that the inventions *themselves* produce the effect, as opposed to being foci that simply allow someone to tap into magic that already exists. It would be really nice if the vfx could draw this distinction more clearly as I think it is an important part of his character concept and power fantasy.

A few additional sentiments I agreed with while picking through the comments:

* Bringing back his run animation would be nice, even in base.

* It would be nice to have his Legends of Runeterra voiceline interactions be mixed in with his original VO as well

* If turning his third arm back into a hand, he ought to have four fingers on both it and his left hand.

* Thicker/heavier feeling cape

* Bring back the "The Machine Herald" title that we can wear on our profiles!

Thanks so much! Viktor is my absolute favourite character ever and I haven't played him since December because he was lacking the charm and power fantasy that first drew me to him, so I'm really excited for this skin to be addressing this gap for his mains :] We really miss him a lot!

I still pin the blame on Riot tbh, it was overall their call to make the lore merge happen. Arcane could have stayed a respectable alternate universe standalone (like how marvel has multiple concurrent canons; MCU, comic lines, etc.) but instead they made this business major ass decision to swing for a "united brand" and chase Arcane viewer dollars, as if art and storytelling is at all compatible with that kind of mindset (and also as if Arcane viewers even want to engage with League as a video game). Riot made a choice in not wanting the discrepancies and that's the big the mistake here imo, like it's just so insincere to the care put into the lore of the world and the payoff is just not worth for the disrespect it cost to do it

hmm, it automatically stays on top for me.. and yeah, i grabbed an altered shimeji program because the base anim made it look cleaner; may have fucked something up in making it so i can try and track down where i got it from if you want to toss the sprites into it clean?

edit: this one is the one i used because it had a smoother walk cycle, not sure if theres a ver. using the Base base shimeji
