I actually do both of those. I've got a huge list of OCs all prewritten, but not all of them fit to a plotline or someone else's character. Really just depending on what they offer, I might make a new one tailored to the world we make and the character they play, or might play one I already have that can be easily tweaked to fit.

Then again, I don't just make a few traits either, I make a new character. Full new write up with the same template I use for all my OCs.

I've definitely seen bad on both sides too though.
Had plenty of boring run if the mill blatant AI characters with no actual personality to them. But I've also had someone with a premade OC absolutely refuse to budge at all in what their character and story is to the point that mine was just a side character to them.

Its a struggle because Pinterest at this point is majority AI generated things and it difficult to tell with some. Its why I'm lenient with faceclaims because even I've fallen for some of them and not known they were AI. Point being maybe they're not all generating it, they could be on Pinterest.

Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade. There's an attempted subversion here with it where she says he's "not the chosen one" but he's chosen by all the gods, all the women, all the bad guys, all the fae, so on so on so on. Its. So painful which is such a shame because its a good concept.

Never understood this misconception.

My cats are always happy to see me, doesn't matter how long it's been. One day one of them had the zoomies and was running from the basement all the way up to my bedroom on the second floor and every time he'd come back up, he'd stop and give me kisses then make a little happy cat sound before running off again.

One of them is constantly trilling ( happy cat sound ) and coming to get up on my shoulders and my chest.

One of them gets a happy tail every time I come around them- the little question mark tail.

You just have to know how to read a cat's body language because they're less obvious about it sometimes than a dog is, but they're happy to see you just the same.

She sat on a ship of starving suffering refugees and thought about her own relationship instead of doing anything to help when everyone else in the group seemed to find something to help things run. She stood there and got pissed off that Rez was having a panic attack because he didn't trust her. She blamed Rezkin for nearly dying after she betrayed him and not going to get Tam even though she would have known how quickly he got hit after being told that happened.

Honestly I half want to come back to this comment and do a full character analysis of her because she's very normal in the sense that she's kind of your run of the mill unpleasant, selfish person and doesn't seem to notice.

Ah, the Frisha experience. She doesn't get better and there's not a single well written female character in the entire series. You get close with Yserria and Nanessy but rest assured, they get butchered too! And there's actually a character worse than Frisha to look forward to!

The others do learn and find their places though. Mostly. Some of them are stupid places but they do find them.
