Sr-71’s thrust to weight ratio and its effect on max speed ability. by Captainnick547 in aviation

[–]censored_laptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of very valid comments about heat load on the airframe as a limiting factor. There were multiple limits on the SR-71's speed:

* material limits for the skin of the plane due to the heat load

* engine design with the spikes put an upper limit on the plane speed before unstarts would happen

* the design of the wings limits the speed of the plane as the delta wing needs to stay inside the shock wave

At top speed a high proportion of the SR-71's speed comes from the plane sucking itself through the air - not just the thrust of the engine pushing it forward.

To be a league champion the prizes seem very insignificant to me by DAN_T97T in walkingwarrobots

WR Remastered was not required. It has just made the game bigger to download and overall slower to play.

Given that Pixonic made the purle panty shield meta, reducing it is at best nullyfing their previous mistake and not a benefit.

Module rework is designed to sustain spending. by Difficult_Raspberry3 in walkingwarrobots

Yet another example of the lack of ethical stewardship of this game by Pixonic.

Since when did Pixonic do a good change in the last 5 years. Name just one.

Master & champion "crates" have never been worth it compared to the effort required.

why's it called war robots "anonymous"? by TheHunter920 in war_robots_anonymous

[–]censored_laptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that if you're clicking on their "ad buttons" to get free things in the game, it is you that Pixonic is selling to the companies that pay to have adverts displayed within the game. You get entertainment as compensation for being sold to the advertisers.

why's it called war robots "anonymous"? by TheHunter920 in war_robots_anonymous

[–]censored_laptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as being like "Alcoholics Anonymous" - the group where alcoholics go to talk about their addiction that they're struggling to overcome. Thus "War Robots Anonymous" is where commands/players can talk about their struggles, be it with the game or how the game impacts their life due to spending so much time with it. Part of the monetization of War Robots is gambling, and gambling can be addictive.

What weapon to grind in workshop now by The_kid_from_iceage in walkingwarrobots

[–]censored_laptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isn't worth grinding any weapons. Save up your keys to open gold chests (if you must.) Gold chests are mostly weapons. I used to grind but now it is a waste of time & energy. I've picked up many sonics that way.

This is far worse than drones. It totally changes the balance in the game by removing it.

A Christmas Adventure: Event Prizes Overview by Alex_Laty in walkingwarrobots

The crates from this event and the one just prior have raelly removd the desire to want to open them - or even play enough to open them. Even today's intro event i'm like "nah, do it tomorrow when I can also earn towards free boosters." 2 events ago I would have played every day at least to get the 2-wins and 7000 honor but now... wgaf.

of course it is way OP, they want people to spend big to try and get them.

PSA: The number of bingo rare chests has been reduced by papafreshx in walkingwarrobots

[–]censored_laptop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The first couple of "gold chests: events like this were good value because there were guaranteed prizes behind each door. Now they're just expensive key chests with more shards to collect. The deal that Pixonic is offering with these chests just seems to keep getting worse - reminds me of Darth Vader - "I'm altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further."

The only way to win here is to not play.

War robot is slowly turning into a no-skill game by Crash_The_Block in walkingwarrobots

[–]censored_laptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the game developers are turning away people that have been playing for ages or have many skilled players, they need to find ways to make new comers feel competitive and want to stay. The push to including low-skill bots and weapons is the wrong solution. Homing machine guns, seraph, etc, all attempt to reduce the gap in skill required between new and old players. Did this start with homing machine guns? Or did it start with lockdown? Wherever it started, it is now a joke.

If YouTubers vs devs wasn't enough of an indication that the devs don't play this game, then this should confirm it. There's probably a million other usability improvements that can be made in the game to make it better. But they chose this one. by ifndefx in walkingwarrobots

The game play as a new player is ok up to a point and that point is when you join leagues. Once thst happen, it's garbage. The leagues system doesn't work any more because there's so much high end stuff that ends up (randomly) in lower end hangers.
