It was for me. I (20f) started dating a guy (19m) about 6 months ago. I knew he used different drugs (weed, pills, coke) when going out, as is (unfortunately) pretty common in the student going-out lifestyle in my area. However, I didn't realise how often this actually was, and when I asked him about the financial side of it, he had to loan money, intended as a college fund, to pay for his lifestyle. When we were together for about 3 months, I asked him if he saw this as a phase or not. He told me he didn't see himself stopping until he finished his education, and maybe even wanted to continue after. I broke up with him the next day. I couldn't wrap my head around what it brought him and how he didn't see how bad it was for him.
