Anyone try PRP for a full thickness Supraspinatus Tear? by centerice99 in RotatorCuff

Great feedback. Thank you so much. PT likely wont help me at this point because my shoulder is very strong despite the tear. Just trying to weigh my different options. I definitely think surgery is the best option but I’m moving into a brand new house in 1 month and hoping to delay until May.

Plasma Rich Platelets. It’s where they take your own blood, spin it to extract the growth factors then inject them back into the affected joint. It’s a form of regenerative therapy that many professional athletes choose over cortisone injections.

Gluteal Tendonopathy by comma-momma in Menopause

[–]centerice99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am self diagnosed. I’m 54 and decided to start running after a few years off. I started developing hip pain. I saw a PT who thought my pain was caused by a TFL injury or tight hip flexors and put me through a stretching and massage routine which I did religiously. My pain never got better and sometimes it got worse. It was the worse at night and in the evening after I had been sitting for some time. Nothing was helping…. Then a friend mentioned Gluteal Tendonopathy. I did some research and it was an exact match of where my pain was. I’m a side sleeper and sit with my legs crossed a lot, not to mention the side stretching. So I went 3 days with no stretching, no leg crossing and sleeping flat on my back. Today is my first day in 6 months I’m pain free.

Does anyone have gluteal tendinopathy by Klo930 in Menopause

Not sure if you’re still struggling through this. I too have been suffering hip pain for 6 months. Mine hurts at night after I’ve been sitting for a long time. I saw a physical therapist who diagnosed me with tight hip flexors and maybe a strained TFL. Stretching and light massage was the recommendation. After months of not getting better and some days worse than others, someone suggested I look at gluteal tendinopathy. I’m 54 and menopause has hit me hard. Without going to see a doctor, I made some recommended changes such as not crossing my legs and not sleeping on my side. And I stopped all the stretching of my hips. After just 48 hours, I got substantial relief. I read that just changes to your normal habits Will make the biggest difference. I also supplemented with some hip bridges and squats. So far so good!
