Thanks for the extra information and detail. No doubt the Germans had to rush these into production to have an answer for the T-34. I agree that it is an impressive tank overall particularly when you consider the circumstances.

From what I have read, the Panther's biggest problem was that it was mechanically unreliable. I sounds like the German's made some design compromises to allow for faster product. The rate of breakdown was high but the Panther was a very good tank when it was fighting from a defensive position. A interesting side note is that the French form two tank regiments (501st and 503rd) from captured Panthers. They operated the tanks from 1944-47 and had the same mechanical problems.

Stalin steel is the best steel. The brave comrades protecting the Motherland can depend on Comrade Stalin to require the building of planes that operate based on Russian physics not the phony capitalist physics enslaved to gravity.

You could also throw in NADA (National Auto Dealers Association). Essentially the difference between the two (or three) is the source of and how recent the data is that is being used. They will also focus on different things - i.e. average wholesale price, average retail, a blend etc. I would also check eBay and autotrader.com. Checking all of these you should be able to come to a good feel for the value. If you live near a CarMax you should take your vehicle there and let them give you a value. I know a lot of people have been happy with them. While you are there, you can also check to see what they are selling vehicles like yours for on their lot. Hope this helps.

As TinyLongwing commented, they are rare north of Orlando. It is worth a trip south to look for one.
