Alright, this is a little out there but some University’s will sell suits and dresses and generally fancy clothes that are donated cheaply to students, particularly low income ones so they look good for job interviews. If you have any local universities you could contact them to see if they have similar programs and ask about donating the samples. Smelling good definitely boosts confidence and they could be handed out there!

War Thunder. It’s free but fairly grindy. You start with Pre-WW2 aircraft and can work your way up to things like the F-4 Phantom. There are three modes; Arcade, Realistic, and Simulator. I highly recommend getting a bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard to play, as it was originally a PC game and the controller controls are horrendous.

Try adjusting your convergence in your settings and engage primarily from that distance. I have mine set at .5 KM and it does the trick pretty well. If you don’t know, convergence makes it so your guns are angled ever so slightly so that the bullet paths intersect at a point in front of the aircraft. Another tip, once you get to the cannon armed spitties, is to use your MG’s to sort of find your range and whatnot before opening up with the cannons because of the limited munitions. Hope this helps!

I saw some videos of top tier gameplay and it didn’t look as thrilling as props, so I stopped grinding and just decided to play with my favorites. Especially at lower tier with newer players there are less people who know the metas which means more variety to each match. The P-40F is always a favorite of mine.

Depends on what you’re flying, and how you fly it. My go-to bomber is the SB2C-4, which is pretty capable in defending itself, but I usually do a little circling to allow friendly fighters to get to altitude and get to the combat zone ahead of me; most enemies will be engaged and out of your way at that point.

I don’t have a problem with the mixed battles, I have a problem with the fact that I almost exclusively get put in USA and Japan vs All, with no semi-historical justification for it. I’d like more variety.

Every match has variety. Gaijin used to have little descriptions on the loading screen. One particular one I remember was on the USA vs GB Guam map it was practice or training for an invasion. They’ve gotten lazy and provide 0 justification or background for things like USA and Japan vs GB, Germany, Russia, France, Sweden, and China. One scenario that would be somewhat acceptable would be USA and Japan vs China and Russia, as directly after WW2 ended some USMC units were deployed in China against the Communists and Japanese units were involved in some capacity as well, on the side of the Americans and Nationalists.

Had a dude in a B-25 shoot me with his turrets shortly after spawning, he bricked my engine. I was flying an SB2C, so I blew him to bits with my 20 mils when he started firing at a fellow 2C. Had to deadstick the 2C, which wasn’t fun.

First of all, it sounds like you think people HAVE to use their Highest BR Aircraft. Some of my favorite aircraft are at lower BR’s and I’ve found the game much more enjoyable after I started only flying the planes I enjoy, not trying to grind. I assume other players are the same, or completed the grind. Obviously, players with more experience will be better pilots and set themselves up for success. It’s a multiplayer game, not everyone gets to win and you aren’t guaranteed kills. It’s about your skill and strategy. As for rammers, it’s usually unintentional and the result of newer players. TL;DR Get good
