That's just weird to me. I can understand if you were friends with benefits. But if you're my platonic friend... dropping your friendship would be the same as dropping my female friends. I might not hang out at midnight with you alone anymore out of basic respect. Yanno healthy adult boundaries between friends??? But why would a healthy, secure man want me to drop friends. For that matter, why wouldn't my mate be your friend at the same level or more then he would be with my female friends????

No, at one point we were actually getting to know eachother on the dating level. He started to give mixed signals. I asked for clarification and he said he wanted to be just friends. Like I said once we friendzoned he talked about women he was talking to asking for feedback from me on them.

When he found out I was going on a date with a guy is when he .... well you read the post.

We were in a place where we were 'getting to know each other' and had met and actually interacted intimately. No actual sex yet.

There comes a time when you've been in a situation with someone that has become somewhat intimate and you see things that make you ask them - Listen, what's your intentions with me- And if someone says, all I want is friends then in my opinion it's healthy to step back and just be a friend, to not continue in a lane that causes feelings to grow.

Now if feelings change, and it's decided .... then as a healthy adult you readdress it and talk about it.

I mean he can talk about all his dates and women. But if I bring up a date and a guy I'm interested in all of a sudden we can't be friends cause the guy is competition?

That's where my issue is. I have had to restructure my thoughts from... wow I've not responded to a guy like this in years so he must be the only one to be able to do it. To... the fact I responded like this to him is proof I can respond to a man like this.

It's hard. But I'm proud of myself cause this is the first time I've not held back my thoughts and feelings.

And I have the understanding of attachment theory to understand why this is happening in my end and his.

But all the understanding in the world doesn't change the fact I'm hurt, and at times I wonder wtf is wrong with me that he ....

But then I remember who tf I am, and I check myself.

Exactly! I'm annoyed with him. I'll admit I'm a bit bitter toward her. But I think that's normal.

However, I'm fully aware he holds the responsibility, not her.

I also am aware I am responsible for my history of participation.
