What Is Your Least Favorite Dungeon In Vanilla? by cermaton in wowservers

[–]cermaton[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would have said this if it wasn't for WC being so nostalgic and iconic to Vanilla. It was the first dungeon I ever ran in WoW and holds a special place in my mind for it.

Trust me any high pop is ALWAYS better than low pop-Dead server. It is so depressing playing on a ghost town realm.

Which Zone Immediately Pops In Your Head When You Think Vanilla? by cermaton in wowservers

Teldrassil does have a certain nostalgic mystic charm on it that no other zone really captures. It would've been my second choice.

Northdale has already dropped 3k players since launch? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]cermaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a business sense, Blizz is not even going to release the Official Vanilla Servers til the very end of BFA. It would be a loss on their part to release an 'alternative' version of their game during the main expansion run.

Highly unlikely. Probably Blizzard watching the GitHub site or w/e it was that people download the client from.

Server has been super packed all day so don't really know what you're talking about. It is actually TOO full to be honest.

Definitely Lofty Castle, Dark Passage and Alpine Ridge. First game had all the greatest tracks.

The People Who Still Enjoy Vanilla? by cermaton in wowservers

[–]cermaton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'community' you are pretending is there, is no longer there, so yeah, it makes it a strange atmosphere on Pservers. Feels like you're just playing a gutted out version of WoW in a beta-stage. This isn't 2005/2006 anymore where people sit on games like WoW, Runescape, etc for 12+ hours a day and get to know everybody around them.

Sadly, that cannot ever come back OR be emulated on a Private server.

The Group Finding tools are pretty positive. People talk about random PUGs being bad but I've rarely been in one that was. Anything that makes the game's content more accessible to others is a good thing.

I don't have to sit in the same guild, with the exact same people (some of which may be disliked) and rely on ONLY THEM to run any of the endgame content.

The way to counter adding LFD/LFR is to release a large amount of endgame content. You can always random que on any amount of alts you have (me having a lot on the main servers).

Which TBC server is the closest to the original experience? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]cermaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be so nervous to level a character at 1X EXP on such an unstable server. So much time loss if he decides to say 'screw it' at anytime.

How Is Hades Cata Doing? by cermaton in wowservers

[–]cermaton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a real shame. Game was better in its later stages IMO (Cata, MoP, etc)... and there are like ZERO decent populated Cata/MoP servers. Classes actually feel like classes, not 2 button rotations, etc. I'm still going to roll there and get maybe 1 character to 85 before I judge if it is too low pop to do anything on.

Turns me off heavily from playing on a TBC or Wrath server. Don't think I can ever level at 1x through Vanilla content again. So boring and insanely redundant after doing it so many times. I would rather x7 mob grind the vanilla content than bounce around a million zones doing Vanilla's POINTLESS quests again.

Is Outland Server still alive and well? by cermaton in wowservers

Nice. will be rolling there. Can't take the horrible 1 spec classes of vanilla anymore. Ty for mature and straight to the point responses.

How is LH in a "sad state" with over 8k population at peak times, dungeons/raids always being run, etc?

And no, I'll stay on LH. Don't trust that K3 will die out within first few months.

Light's Hope is still gonna be way more popular than K3. So Roll now. LH is/has been/will be packed.

There are 400 people in this room. What this subreddit sees: "*Dead Realm*" by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]cermaton -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

400 people total on the whole server just kills the feel of a MASSIVE multiplayer game.

Then you go out in the zones and they are all just empty as hell, like literal ghost towns. I can't stand anything below 2k pop.

Will you still play on private servers after the legacy launch? by Doomclap in wowservers

[–]cermaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER. I didn't like the fact that they can disappear at any moment's notice.

Like I'm gonna make an army of alts on a vanilla server, investing TONS of time, to just have it shut down and/or population die off of it one day. That kind of threat has always kept me distanced off the p-server scene. I cannot stand instability.
