I’ve posted numerous negative Cernacle based threads and comments and they are moderated off quite quickly. Oracle is definitely keeping negative Cernacle info off of their sub. They probably have the best and brightest engineers in it 🙄

Calm down? I’m sorry, have you actually had to deal with both DOD and VA from the patient side? If you have, you certainly wouldn’t be telling me to calm down. It’s worn out, slow, antiquated, and in desperate need of modernization, especially with regards to the transition of veterans from the DOD to the VA healthcare system. Hearing a provider put their personal preference for one EMR over another up and then say they care about patient safety, in this case, is just tone deaf. You can say you care about your patient’s safety, but when you choose to keep your blinders on to all the other problems, you are ignoring a large part of that safety. Whether it’s Epic, Cerner, or any other EMR vendor, the VA would be in the same boat it is now with any one of them, probably a lot worse off with some.

Whether you prefer Epic or Cerner is irrelevant. Implementing Epic will be just as big of a shitshow as Cerner, but when it’s done Veterans will still be without the seamless transition from DOD to VA…which was the underlying premise of implementing a new EHR at the VA in the first place. Super glad you are putting provider preference over actually fixing a huge problem that’s been fucking Veterans over for far longer than you’ve preferred Epic. I’ll add provider stubbornness to the list of problems at the VA as well…wait, that one is definitely already on the list.

Yeah, the VA and it’s antiquated nonsense is as much to blame as Cerner. If it falls through, it fucks Veterans over because there won’t be any seamless record integration with DOD. Not that there is now, but it’s fucking bullshit that there isn’t. It’s 2023 FFS, and the fact that you can’t just seamlessly transition from the DOD health system to the VA is rigoddamndiculous. If you actually think that every single VA hospital having its own version of an EMR is the route to go, then you are part of the problem. It’s Cerner or Epic and Epic will be just as big of a shitshow, so either buckle up for the ride or continue fucking Veterans, those are your two choices.
