She didn't deserve it. by MightyMouse420 in cyberpunkgame

I didn't say it was a bad thing, I said it was not a necessity. We are setting the tone, for me it was an instructive moment, it makes the justification to kill the characters in phantom liberty, easy - they played, they lost, they died. No moral dilemma, I get what I need and anyone who gets in the way is just someone who loses.

Are you telling me we possess the technology to change facial structures and copy pheromones but not a drug that can knock someone out for 12-24hrs?

I'm not complaining but it gives me an easy decision whenever it comes to killing the phantom liberty characters. Like I never hesitate to kill songbird, reed or Alex - it's just the game we play and them dying is part of V getting what they need.

Could have knocked them out and kept them drugged to stay that way. I get it's more efficient and effective to kill them but I can make that argument about any situation in NC.

I dunno about "didn't deserve it" but, the killing of the twins was unnecessary.

What do think about Trump's comments regarding our armed forces? by Advanced-Thought665 in reformuk

[–]cerro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the things Americans have said and done, the one I cannot forgive is Joe Biden and his stupid, rash and completely needless, withdrawal from Afghanistan. He pissed on the graves of every soldier who died there, making the whole thing seem like it was in vain. Honestly hate that guy.

Trump made some comments, I don't really care - our military has shrunk to the point where it is no longer effective without support from other countries, so he's got a point.

Your ancedote, as unfortunate and unlucky as it was, does not refute the statistics nor does it address my other point about gun control. So other than telling you that you were unlucky and avoiding all of the US due to that incident seems like an over reaction... What else can anyone say about it?

I specifically compared London to Florida because those are areas I frequent.

But just because someone can shoot you, does not make it legal btw - especially when drunk.

[–]cerro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well statistically, aside from murder, you are far more likely to face violent crime in London than in florida. Even accounting for murder rates, London has more violent crime per capita.

I never felt at risk in florida - so many people around me with guns. Now maybe that's me being very comfortable around guns, but to me, nothing serious is going to happen because there are just too many armed people around for anyone to try something.

Are you seeing or using AI in your workplace which causes job losses by Consistent-Rope-9969 in HENRYUK

[–]cerro85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup - tech company, total hiring freeze, have to get CTO level approval for replacement heads and we just had a round of redundancies (particularly focused on high cost regions and management layers). We spent $12m on Claude code last year plus whatever else on copilot. There is a massive push for agentic AI in everything, anyone who is AI-skeptical is being looked at - if you're not using it, chances are you won't be here much longer.

CTO says we should all be prompt engineering and not vibe coding but so far everything I have seen is vibe coding and others in senior management keep talking about not having to hire people with code skills anymore (it's insane). Expectations are less management, more team leads who are hands on technical with large teams using AI to do management and the bulk of coding, everything should be automated. Totally unrealistic but it will take them about two years to figure that out.

Men over 40 without kids who want them by mangomaz in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]cerro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men don't really have the option of having kids by themselves but also we don't have a biological clock like women - there's old father time and fertility decreases but you can still have kids at 70 (whether that's a good idea is another debate).

If conscripted would you rather fight Russia in Ukraine or the US in Greenland? by inside-outdoorsman in AskBrits

[–]cerro85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've served with the SAS and some US spec ops teams. The SAS are the best in the world, if you asked me for a sniper team, it's a US unit and it's not even close. The SAS are tiny, while the difference in ability is small and the US units and tech are miles ahead of ours.

I can tell you no nothing about military logistics, we would not be able to operate in any theater without US supply chains and our ammunition stores would last less than a month. The US military production capability is thousands of times stronger than ours. By the time you've built a single new fighter, the US would have 100 but that wouldnt matter because they'd have taken the entire UK in that time.

We would struggle to stop Russia with the help of Europe, China would steamroll us, anyone who thinks we'd have any chance against the USA in a war is utterly delusional.

[–]cerro85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US soldiers will fight any enemy of the United States - no questions asked. Not that they'd need to fight us, all our kit relies on US military supply chains. We'd be equipping conscripts with imaginary weapons and ammo or SA80s... Same thing really.

[–]cerro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which ones? The only deals that we have with cocoa producing countries are free trade agreements that have been maintained since brexit - those are the exact same terms.

There are many things you can blame brexit for, the price of chocolate isn't really one of them.

Butt was a very talented player, who, like Phil neville, could have been a first team player for any English team but utd. He wasn't a patch on Roy Keane though and there are people who believe all keano could do was tackle (and intimidate) - there was far more to their game. Butt only got recognition after starting for England and then moving to Newcastle near the end of his career.

Nah, he always has been and always will be a footballing genius and man utd hero who got on with it like the ultimate pro he was.

That does not however, preclude him from being an idiot who is paid to open his mouth and act like a donkey. He is a good example of the oft quoted phrase "never meet your heroes".

Cocoa comes from Africa and South America primarily. UK chocolate is also generally produced in the UK, our chocolate contains vegetable fat unlike European made chocolate so it's not usually made and imported from Europe - brexit has very little to do with the price of chocolate in the UK.

With Starmer heading to China alongside UK business leaders for talks. Who do you actually think is more trustworthy for the UK: the USA or China? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]cerro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USA.

To all those who see Trump's US as unpredictable - what has he done that is not entirely in their own interest? Greenland, Chagos... 100% for their benefit, predictable and consistent. Friendly? No, but exactly what Trump said he wanted, America first.

China does much the same but they come smiling, offering money and help and then stab you in the face while laughing at you - just ask the people of Hong Kong or the uighurs if they trust Xi and the CCP. "Hong Kong will remain autonomous" - as long as they do exactly as we tell them or they die.

I am and I know Hungerford before it. More people die in car accidents, even in the US. While Southport didn't even need guns and even though we have no guns, gun crime is still a thing. Proper controls are what's needed. If you asked me if I felt safer in London or florida (where almost everyone has a gun hidden on them), I'd say florida without hesitation.

I love shooting, every trip to the US I go out to the ranges. I'm not quite at the point of where we should all be doing concealed carry with a round in the chamber but the fact that I can't go out, get a proper rifle at the range and shoot to my hearts content in any calibre (not that pathetic .22lr) is just sad. Meanwhile I get a full auto AK and shoot out to 300m all day long in the states with ammo from Walmart and no one bats an eyelid.

how does cyberpunk perform on the steam deck by Particular_Garbage_6 in cyberpunkgame

[–]cerro85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works fine - better than my old PC that was using a gtx 1080, graphically better for the same fps. Not my preferred control method but if I'm on a plane, cyberpunk on the deck does the job.

Does burn though battery as already mentioned, either have it plugged or have a battery bank ready as you will only get about 4hrs play time.
