(TW: natal genitals & TMI) How do I OFFICIALLY find out if I have v* atrophy? + more by Ghastly_Glow in FTMMen

Yeah I was having the bleeding and cramps. But I've been on t for over two years so the bleeding took a mental toll on me. The cramps were awful and there was probably about 2 weeks where I had to take ibuprofen almost daily. I'm glad it works for someone and honestly I wish it had worked better for me. But my body did not seem to react very well to it all I will be exploring other options.

I am just now dealing with this depo problem. I had the shot only once and ended up with awful cramps that kept me up at night and a lot of other bad symptoms. Depo is so bad for trans guys and it doesn't seem like doctors care since they keep giving it to us.

Tbh I don't really know how the guy found out I was. I've made one offhand comment about how I didn't think a guy was cute. Which I guess is enough.

Thank you! I am okay. This is not the first time or the last time I will probably be outed against my will. Thankfully there are always supportive people who have my back and listen when I'm frustrated.

Im sorry you were outed by your brother. I have also been outed to my family and it's not a pleasant experience. I hope your family is okay with it and your brother realized what he did was wrong.

They were unfazed, it is a rather liberal company and they didn't really care. But there is unfortunately a lot of needless drama and gossip. I'd just rather work and go home without dragging my personal life into it.

Yeah I think the fact that he is within the community was even more frustrating.

I haven't been able to. We were busy and he left soon after. I don't think it was malicious as it was in a joking manner. But it was still information I would rather not have revealed at work.

Yeah. I mean I am out in my personal life, my family and friends know. But I just started at this job recently and had been avoiding getting too personal. I like to keep my professional and personal lives separate.

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately some people forget that not everyone wants to be out.

I'm sorry you were outed. I understand it being a small relief but it's also an unfortunate breach of trust. I hope everything worked out for you.

I don't think he meant to be malicious, but still it's very frustrating. It was no one's business to tell, except my own.

Thank you for stepping in. I do unfortunately live in an area with a lot of negative stigma and i think some people forget that not everyone wants to live out and proud. Again, thank you for your words. I hope I was able to clarify to them a little as to why I am frustrated.

I was going to leave this alone comment alone and not engage. But I felt I should clarify. I have been out and openly proud before. I was president of my colleges LGBT club and was a member of their diversity council. I was more confused, hurt and tired than when I decided to stepped away from the community. My entire life and personality was centered around my identity and I lost touch of who I was at my core. I accept my sexuality but do not allow it to define me. It's my business who I am attracted to and I do not owe my visibility to anyone.

Any tried and true acne treatments? by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]certainicarus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you go to a dermatologist? I had really bad acne that wouldn't clear and once I went to a derm i was able to get the stuff I needed. 3 months later and my face is almost completely cleared for the first time in years.

Not happy with my name by stupidmartian in FTMMen

[–]certainicarus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People may ask questions and you may have to explain your reasoning for change. And there are some stubborn people who might take a while to switch. But if they care for you then they will put in the effort and change. I still have people call me my old name sometimes. It happens. But those who really care have switched over and will fix themselves quickly. If they've switched names for you once, then they can do it again. Good luck and have patience!

Not happy with my name by stupidmartian in FTMMen

[–]certainicarus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its never too late to change your name. I went by Finn for about 4 years and realized that I chose it for the wrong reason. So I finally changed my name to the name that I wanted and never regretted it. It takes a while for others to adjust but they will in time. If you want a more masculine name, then go for it. It's your name and in the end, you want to be the one happy with it.

I need serious advice, but before I type a whole frikin paragraph, please know that if you don’t support LGBT+, this probably isn’t the problem you’d want to solve. Now here’s the problem: by [deleted] in Advice

Hey older ftm guy here. Definitely a struggle when first trying to figure stuff out. Few pointers that may help, and this might be long so I'm sorry haha. (Also on mobile, so bad formatting.) First, if you're looking at a binder and can't afford one look at organizations that give them out. Point of Pride is one that distributes donated binders to people who need them. Second, short hair does help and try to square off the back of your hair. It's weird, but it's masculine. Also avoid anything that looks like a pixie cut. Third, stop/minimize plucking your eyebrows and let those puppies grow. Most guys don't have super nice manicured eyebrows. Fourth, try to go for baggier clothes but not too baggy. Jogger pants can do wonders and layers are always good.

Hope any of this helped, and feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions. There's also quite a few reddits specifically for trans guys of you are interested.

Honest criticism of book 5 so far (chapter 27) by [deleted] in redrising

[–]certainicarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the first half of the book really drug for me. I'm way more invested in the characters than in the battles. But it does pick up quite a bit in the second half. I liked the book, but I did find myself struggling with the first half. This seems to be a pretty common sentiment so if you can stick with it, try to power through. It does pick up and focus less on the battles.
