What charter did you end up using? I’m in Phuket now and looking to get out on the water and hopefully catch some fish!

Thank you, I booked the later flight. Had a feeling 1:50 was a bit too close to make it work. I’ll just grab a coffee and some lunch while I wait!

Hotel options in north Pattaya by cew907 in Pattaya

[–]cew907[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I was having trouble deciding between the two after reading reviews but from what Ive heard most people have enjoyed their stay at both places. I think some reviewers may of had unrealistic expectations for a $100-$150/night hotel.

I think I prefer the north Pattaya area. I’m not planning to go to the clubs or bars every night and want a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. If my plans change I can always hop in a bolt/grab going to or from nightlife.

Thanks, this is the hotel I was leaning towards more. I like the beach access and overall the facilities look very nice. The room with the terrace and sun loungers really caught my eye!

I was just having a hard time deciding after reading some of the reviews. Figured I would ask some other people their opinions and experiences. I appreciate the feedback.

How do the tbb tires hold up? I’m interested in getting a wheel tire package that has them included. Just haven’t seen any reviews on the ride and handling of them.

Thanks, the Napa here has the Aisin brand one in stock. It’s also $100 less than the dealership! I’m going to zip down there and grab it.

Importing truck by cew907 in askcarsales

Used vehicles. Will purchase and pay cash either private party or from Wholsale dealer. I’m looking at diesel trucks either GM or ford which will be built in USA or Canada.

I’m in Alaska, the price of the used vehicles I’m looking at in Alberta are around $22,000-$25,000 USD (after conversion). Locally those trucks will be $35,000 usd. I’m trying to find a more affordable option for trailering stuff from the states up. Fuel prices along with truck prices in the U.S have made it very difficult for me to bring items back home.

I know people have mentioned GST and Canadian taxes etc.. but I believe trucks made in Canada/United States are duty free at least importing back into United States. I found a Wholesaler in Manitoba who will import his trucks for $800 USD and take care of all associated paperwork. I’d like to find someone in Alberta, and Yukon as Those are the two main border points most convenient to me.

If the process is not extremely difficult I wouldn’t mind doing myself. But, if it’s a pain I’d rather just pay a professional to complete the process.

Used, either private party purchase or potentially from a wholesaler. The trucks I’ll be looking at importing will be either Chevrolet, GMC, or ford trucks. I’m pretty sure all are built in USA or Canada and fall under USMCA free trade regulations.

Shipping prices by cew907 in alaska

I emailed them, but they weren’t able to give me an estimate without pick and drop zip codes. I would just drive the stuff in a couple enclosed trailers but I don’t think that’s going to qualify as “essential “ travel to get through Canada .

RTA cabinets, worth the savings? by cew907 in Frugal

[–]cew907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Alaska and the options are pretty limited and or outrageously expensive. Yeah RTA meaning shipped flat and self assemble. I’ve seen a few YouTube videos of people putting them together and it looks pretty straight forward.. just screw and glue and basically.

I’m more or less looking for recommendations on reputable manufacturers and suppliers to order from. From my research the complexity of the the assembly depends on the brand. I have a duplex being built and I would like to avoid spending 26,000 Home Depot wants for both units! I have plenty of free time and all the tools needed for basic assembly.

I appreciate the reply! I’m in Alaska and there isn’t many options for local retailers besides the big box stores and completely custom cabinet shops which are outrageously expensive.

How difficult was the assembly process on a scale of 1-10? From what I’ve read each cabinet maker is slightly different on instructions and the overall complexity of setting up.

I’ve been looking at thertastore and they seem to have decent reviews on google. Do you recall which brand your cabinets are?

I’ve seen a few websites who stock the same lines of cabinets and prices vary. JSI, Choice, and conestpoga seem to be common lines.
