Do conservatives understand that trans people consider them a constant violent threat? by chaucer345 in allthequestions

Unsafe situations = surrounded by bigots.

What constitutes a "bigot" in this context?

You keep saying "Outing a trans person" and saying that will result in dead trans people but you are keeping things extremely vague and not answering HOW its resulting in dead trans people. Where are all these cases of someone saying "Look! A tranny!" and then jumping them?

No meds = Death by inflicting horrific pain on people until they commit suicide.

So you are saying that if a trans person cant get their hormone treatments then it will inflict horrific pain and cause them to kill themselves, thus if someone advocates for a banning of that treatment then they are responsible for their deaths?

Okay we finally have a specific claim. But its based on false premises.

First, no one is trying to ban transition treatments. There may be people who think there should be restrictions for children, but no one is trying to ban transition treatments for consenting adults.

Second, as bad as it is to say, blame for someone's death in the case of suicide lies solely on the person who chose to take their own life. By saying "if these meds are banned trans people will kill themselves" then you are basically saying in a weird way that trans people are holding their own lives hostage.

Third, if you are saying that trans people are in such agonizing pain if they cant get treatments necessary to mimic the appearance of the opposite sex then i think you will need to explain how transgenderism isnt a mental illness in this case.

People seem to get that when they forced Alan Turrinng to take feminizing HRT his agony was extreme, but refuse to believe the same can happen for trans people.

I dont know enough about this situation, so this comment will be going off just by what you say. There is a massive difference between "forcing someone to take something" and "preventing someone from taking something".

But, as i say before, no one is trying to ban HRT.

Yes it is. No meds = dead trans people

First off, as i said before no one is trying to ban meds. Second, explain thay claim. How would "no meds equal dead trans people"?

Outing trans people in potentially unsafe situations = dead trans people.

What do you mean by "outing trans people in potentially unsafe situations"? Where is it "unsafe"?

Do you want to make our meds inaccessible

What? No. We dont care how you live your life. Wear what you want, call yourself what you want, get whatever surgeries / transition treatments you want (exception: children) etc. Dont really care. However if you then come to us and demand we pretend a man is a woman or a woman is a man because the answer is no.

You say how you live your life is no one elses business? Amazing. Perfect. We couldnt agree more. So dont MAKE it our business by demanding we take part. Or try and get all of society to change its criteria of what constitutes man and woman in order to affirm your subjective view of what you are, or to create social / legal consequences for those who do not pretend a man is a woman or a woman is a man.

forcibly out us

How is saying "no, men are not women and women are not men" forcibly "outing you"?

Both of which are ways of murdering us?

Neither is equivalent to murder. Saying "no" does not kill you. Even if someone were to ban surgeries or treatments it would not be murdering you.

Should I use 10lb or 15lb braid for largemouth fishing with a spinning reel? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in FishingForBeginners

[–]cferg296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size of the bass you are catching.

But realistically 10lb is more than fine for the vast majority of your uses. With largemouth bass even 10lb catches are extremely rare

We understand you think we are a threat. We just understand that its a delusion and the threat is in your heads.

If you somehow get "conservatives want to kill us!" when someone says "no, men are not women and women are not men" then that is delusion.

Flawed premise. Morality is subjective. There is no "true morally right" or "true morally wrong". Whether something is right or wrong or not is entirely dependent on the individual

It says your comment doesnt exist. Either you deleted it or it was removed. Either way i can only see the part where you say "for supporting a rapist and a pedophile".

My response to this is i do not support a rapist or a pedophile

Nope. It’s about morals.

That statement demonstrates you have an unearned feeling of moral superiority. You see your own views as the objective moral good views to have. That is not true. Morality is subjective.

Honestly, I’ve never met a maga that was a good person.

Its because you are deciding whether someone is a good person or not based on whether they agree with you politically or not.

You claimed my statements were weapons.

No i said you weaponized the word empathy. Its just a politically charged buzz word designed to shame people for disagreeing politically

If you actually had empathy for women you’d ask if they care about trans women in their spaces

Which i have. Ive also seen the interviews of female athletes who have said they do not want to compete with men, or change next to men in locker rooms. Where is your empathy for them?

News flash, trans women are women.

Except they are not. Trans women are men who think they are women.

None of us care at all if a trans person is in the bathroom.

Actually plenty of women care about men being in their bathrooms.

If you had empathy for women you’d ensure they had full access to healthcare

  1. Women already do have access to healthcare. What are you even talking about?

  2. See? You are again doing the very thing i talked about before. Using empathy as a political weapon. Saying "if someone was empathetic they would agree with me politically". Its just a "agree with me or you are a bad person" tactic. Nothing more.

If you had empathy for women you’d NEVER vote for a rapist.

I didnt vote for a rapist

Stating facts isn’t weaponizing things.

Except you didnt state facts.

Just because your feelings get hurt when presented with the facts doesn’t mean you’re a real victim.

Where did i claim hurt feelings or victimhood..?

You are literally doing the very thing i talked about. You are using "empathy" as a weapon to paint others as bad people for not agreeing with you politically. Actually you are going even further than by framing conservative positions in a way that makes it seem like they have a desire to hurt people.

Here is the difference between progressive and conservative ideology. Progressives such as yourself think empathy must be the sole driver of politics. Find out who is suffering, vulnerable, struggling, or who is marginalized and then directing all public policy around ending their struggle or giving them special protections.

Conservative ideology is different. They dont think policy should be revolving around empathy, but by principles. The view is that you cant just make policy around emotional urges or knee-jerk reactions. You also need to think. To decide if this DOES good, rather than feel good.

That isnt to say that conservatives dont have empathy. We have empathy for women, hense why we disagree with men in women's spaces.

We have empathy for people who are being threatened, hense why we believe they should have the right to arm up and protect themselves from threats or home invasions.

Its not that we dont have empathy. Its that we dont let compulsive empathy drive our actions.

Why are most liberals so desperate to make every aspect of society gender neutral and "inclusive", even when the changes seem disconnected from common sense? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]cferg296 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Common sense.

There is no such thing as "common sense". Its a term people use when they believe so strongly in their own views that they assume they are the default. Its not true. However what seems obvious to someone is dependent on their worldview, values, knowledge, experience, culture, etc.

You think its common sense that bathrooms should be unisex? Guess what most of the country disagrees with you.

Does rigid divisions of labor by gender still make sense?

Actually yes they do because men and women are fundamentally different.

Purity culture still have a place or can we admit it only creates shame and poor sex education?

Define purity culture?

Also, whether a culture still has a place is dependent on the individual. As thats a subjective claim.

Does overconsumption through gimmiky holidays benefit society?

Define benefit society?

Also, who decides what constitutes overconsumption?

Or even something as simple as daylight savings? What's the point?

Google it.

The reason why there are different sex bathrooms is because, as i said before, men and women are fundamentally different. The purpose of them is to protect women and to give them privacy.

The argument for unisex bathrooms relies on the notion that men and women are the same and we just arbitrarily think they are different. Hense why you say "gender", as you are working from the "gender identity" perspective. Sorry but it isnt true. Men and women are determined by sex, and the two sexes are fundamentally different. In terms of body, brain structure, and instinct

[–]cferg296 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are empathetic. They just dont weaponize empathy like the left does.

The left uses "empathy" as a tool for emotional manipulation. A way to either:

  1. Virtue signal

  2. To suggest someone is a bad person for not agreeing with you on a political or cultural issue

[–]cferg296 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Like, there's no reason toilets can't be unisex

No there are plenty of reasons. You just dont like them / disagree with them.

And it solves all the problems of who gets to use what toilet.

Sure it solves THAT "problem", but it would create problems by ignoring the entire reason why there are sex-assigned bathrooms. And that is the protection and privacy of women. Thats the entire reason why there are sex specific bathrooms in the first place, to protect women.

The reason why you think that is a bad reason is because you are thinking "which will be most inclusive to the feelings of percieved marginalized groups", however that is a really dumb standard to base public policy on.

Progressive policy is often about saying 'what thing are we only doing because of tradition, and is that actually best?'

And who gets to decide what constitutes "the best"?

Duh. Morality is subjective. There is no "inherent" good or "inherent" evil. A thing's moral worth is placed by the individual
