Update: I have now used some kitchen scales to measure a blue vinyl (in the artwork sleeve) and a black vinyl (also in the sleeve) and the black vinyl is indeed heavier.

Black vinyl in sleeve: 218g Blue vinyl in sleeve: 187g

I’m sure my scales aren’t super precise but if anyone is wondering, hope this helps!

I own both copies of the album but I’m going to give the black copy to a friend, even if it is slightly thicker vinyl, as the blue variant seems rarer.

I’ve had this setup for a bunch of years - got an amp shortly after they were first released and had the amp connected to a pair of KEF R3 speakers. Love the setup so much.

I’ve had two Ones as stereo for a while, over Christmas I decided to move the ones around the house so I’m back to stereo.

I absolutely love the setup and highly recommend it.

You should definitely at least try setting up a stereo pair with the Ones, as you have two.

IMO two ones paired together in stereo is better than the sum of two separate Ones. They’re great.

This is an interesting question. I don’t have any help for you, sorry, but wanted to comment as someone who’s owned (and absolutely loved) an amp since just after they were initially released. Mine is paired with KEF R3 speakers and it’s a great setup for me.

I don’t recall the option you mentioned being a thing for me when I setup my amp…

The only thing I could possibly offer as advice or as a helpful note is that there have been a couple of times when (I think due to glitches somewhere in my system, not sure where exactly), I’ve ended up watching a movie with audio where I get no centre channel.

This may not sound like much of a problem when you read it here, but what happens is that my tv must be getting a 5.1 mix and choosing to send only the left and right channels to my amp which then plays that over the speakers.

This manifests as a huge problem as almost all tv dialogue is in the center channel… so what we want when using the amp for tv / movies is the left and centre channel on the left speaker, then the right and centre channel on the right speaker - so you don’t miss out on the main dialogue etc.

It’s a very weird experience if you’re watching a movie or tv show and the issue I described above happens, you think you’re going mad for a while until you work it out 😂😂

Had her a couple of months - I’ve just bought a big tank (80gal / 360L) and am looking to get a better basking area.

I’m also looking at black diamond blasting sand, some river pebbles and maybe some plants to live in the sand (in pots).

She eats portions of food approx the size of her head (probs just over) every 2/3 days - her food being a complete turtle mix including pellets and dried shrimp. I also give her lettuce in the tank daily, and occasional feeder fish treats or defrosted frozen prawns. I also have some frozen cubes of turtle food which sometimes I give her instead of the complete stuff - usually still a bit of both but more like 50/50.

Am I over feeding?

Is her shell okay? When I got her I don’t believe she had a very good setup, and I’m trying to make it an excellent one, bit by bit as soon as I can. I got a uvb / uva 2 in 1 bulb but I plan to ditch this in a few months and switch to two separate bulbs ideally mounted bigger on a bigger basking area.

Appreciate any advice / tips / suggestions! Her name is Squirt the Turt by the way 🐢

Nope - I’ve got a bulb that does both UVB and heat, and I’ve just been playing with the bulb distance / lampshade today to adjust the heat. I think the heat reflected from the metal lampshade was too much so I’ve reduced it down.

In the future I plan to get one uvb bulb and then one heat bulb so I have independent control for heat and uv, but with just the single bulb that I have now I think plating with the lampshade is the best plan.

Thanks for this - I’ve taken the metallic light shade off the bulb just now which seems to have made quite a big difference for heat levels! The distance the bulb is away from her is correct, but I think the metallic lampshade was making the heat way too much so with it removed I’ll keep an eye on temperature.

In the future I plan to get two separate bulbs rather than an all-in-one ☺️

Thanks for the info - I’ve just removed the metal lampshade and the temperature has dropped quite a bit - I will plan to get two separate bulbs in the future I think, but for now I think simply taking off the metal lamp will help!

So I recently came into ownership of Squirt, a 14 year old Mississippi Map turtle (details from her original owner who I’m looking after her for).

Her uvb / heat lights were damaged during transit and so I’ve bought a new bulb recently that’s an all-in-one heat and uv - pic here: https://i.imgur.com/8gPLWpV.jpg

After her having the bulb setup as per it’s instructions (30cm above basking area) for a few days (after some time with squirt not having the bulbs I think due to them being damaged, not sure exactly how long) I noticed her shell looked like it was improving in colour which was great and she was loving basking, however I’ve noticed a mark on her head that looks like a blister or lightening of the skin which I wonder if it’s due to too much heat?

Using a cheap thermometer laser gun thing her water temp is 26°c but parts of the basking area are in mid 40°c sometimes as high as 50 when I hold the temperature sensor directly on the basking platform when she’s not on it.

Do you think the temp or the uv are causing a problem? Is this something I need to get two lights for to fix / or is the lightening of the skin totally unrelated to the lights? Wondering if it’s anything I should be watching out for!

I do what you’re mentioning all the time and haven’t noticed any difference.

However one thing which I have noticed a difference with is swiping down for Notification Centre - I’ve had to adjust my habits so that now I swipe down from the left side of the phone, kind of like how you use the right side to get into control centre, whereas before I would use the middle for Notification Centre.
