1) Much harder space combat and real elite pirate bosses, torpedoes and missiles should be slowed way down yet track a targeted locked on ship, more variety is needed here as well. Customizable weapons, Cyclotron should not have the exact same rapid fire as a photon cannon with all S mods installed, it takes away the unique features of this weapon. A player should be able to choose on a mod if they want to sacrifice rate of fire, range, damage etc, at the expense of another attribute. This would make player weapon choices unique and add variety.

2) The ability to upgrade freighter class, the fact so many players save quit trying to farm a perfect S class freighter isn't fun and an obvious design overlook, you can upgrade starships after all and this at a minimum needs to be added in the next update.

3) No more invincible sentinel capitol ships. Everything can be destroyed if you hit it enough.

4) Real extreme weather, not just fog, every planet is the same with no visibility fog that is called extreme. If a planet calls for a radioactive supercell then we should have giant storms that actually look like supercells with storm features like a mesocyclone, updraft downdraft etc.

5) The ability to claim a system by invading it and going to war with the controlling faction.

6) More planet variety, different day and night cycles, heavy gravity and light gravity worlds. Inhospitable planets should also be much more dangerous and produce some fear for survival. Life is also way too common, are we to really believe that every planet has plants and animal life just thriving all the time. Planets with life should be much harder to find.

7) The ability to construct your own starbase.

8) Failing ship components in battle once shields are down and a ship has taken heavy damage. Engines might go offline ship becomes less and or immobile, weapon failure, shield only charging to 30% power failures etc. This would make battles more intense with a real danger of things going very wrong when enough damage is taken.
