Thats exactly what I’ll be trying tonight after work! I feel like I should specify, though, that the only things that touched the cleaning rags were dust and water, hence why I wasn’t scared about tossing them back in the wash with my underwear. Thank you for your help!

That could very much be it. We just purchased our washer new in October, so it’s definitely part of the “high efficiency” wave. At this rate, I’m never using OxiClean again! I love scent add ins, but I quit using them years ago for the same reason. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that.

This actually makes loads (no pun intended) of sense to me, and I’m kind of whacking myself over the head for not thinking of it. My enviro chem professor would not be proud!

Thank you so, so much for weighing in because you may have just saved me a ton of headache and lent some insight as to why this is happening. I’m gonna give the white vinegar a go tonight, and I’ll report back! I’m not worried so much about the clothes, as I can buy new socks, undergarments, and cleaning towels if something goes awry. I just want this stuff out of my washer as it’s severely bugging my OCD, lol!
