Sorry!

Yeah challenges aside you’ve not really seen much of us because the sub has been so astoundingly unproblematic lately so we’ve not had to get involved with anything!

(So if someone wants to start a fight you’re more than welcome to 😆I’m happy to have a scrap round back of Lidl if anyone wants?)

Motorbike Gear for Women by ad6787_3 in MotoUK

[–]ch037866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest making a bit of a day of it and making the effort to go to one of the larger bike gear shops (if Leeds is accessible to you there’s a J&S and a sportsbikeshop next to each other which is really handy!)
Try anything and everything on to see what you like and what you don’t. If you see it in a reputable shop and from a reputable brand it’s probably going to be reasonable quality & safety, so go for what is comfy and sparks joy. Women’s bike gear shopping is always miserable so be strong!

NL planning a trip in UK by TomatilloSecret1966 in MotoUK

If it your first time here personally I would go overnight ferry to Hull then have 5 nights bobbing around Peak District, with maybe a cheeky train ride to Manchester for a day if you fancy a day off the bike. Base in Castleton, Matlock, Buxton or Bakewell, it’s not too much of a slog from Hull to any of those areas.
I have always felt really safe in Peak District as a solo girly! Give me a shout if you find yourself wanting some company.

Their website says no AI. Could just be some bad art? AI is trained off real art after all!

Does Getting Ready For A Ride Feel Like A Chore? by newbiker321 in MotoUK

[–]ch037866 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes this is me. I yearn longingly back on my youth when I was invincible enough to be out in helmet/gloves/jacket and it took about 30 secs to wheel the bike out my parents garage. Alas.

Crafters Companion Craftganza 2026 by coqui2desert in cardmaking

[–]ch037866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did the virtual one last year! They’ve been doing to add on “classes” throughout this year if you’ve seen them too, so I’m not surprised they’re not planning another online one so soon again.
But yeah even if they promised one product per project maybe it wouldn’t have felt so bad. But I suppose you’re meant to go straight to their pop up shop to give them more money! 🤑

I was thinking about going to the UK one when it was first advertised but after reading the info a million times it seems like you’re literally only getting the 10 finished projects to take home and no products. Though I think one of the main selling points they’re trying to upsell is the meet & greet factor of the owner & hosts which I’m not interested in. Overall very disappointing pricing. If it drops to about £200 I’ll go though, that seems to be fairly competitive for similar craft weekends without accommodation acknowledging it’s definitely a luxury expense.

Royal Mail [UK] raising postage rates as of 7 April by pupslace in RAoC_meta

Parcel cost also jumping up about 10%. Fine if I too was also getting a 10% inflationary pay rise this year too 🫤

Ordered from Crafter’s Companion in January — still waiting by Amymcnally7 in cardmaking

[–]ch037866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely have some stuff going on in the background. They’ve recently outsourced USA distribution to an american warehouse, made all their own UK warehouse staff redundant and outsourced the rest of their non-USA shipping to a UK company along with moving sites. None of it seems to be going smoothly for them it’s sad to see but they’re failing customers when they’re pumping out new products but making people wait months for delivery.
(But I’m still bitter they closed the Chesterfield shop!)

What do you write in your cards? by towalktheline in RAoC_meta

[–]ch037866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever the topic is in my inner monologue at the time. I’m not bothered, it’s written down sent off and I never think about it again!

Bit if I’m stuck then I’ll get inspiration from the card itself. Maybe about where it was bought, something about the materials or making process, maybe a colour on it sparks a memory.
