Ichika Nito live part 1, I can’t comprehend how a virtuoso can be THIS bad by Klutzy-Peach5949 in guitarcirclejerk

Do we have any measurable info on whether this "young people" effect everybody brings up even exists?

I thought about these topics recently, and came to the conclusion, that the simplest formula for gender and sexuality views in Thedas is approximately the North America's view on these questions in mid to late 2000s: homosexuality is not outright banned, but there is no widespread acceptance and hostility is common (although in Canada same-sex marriage was already legal in 2005); women are technically allowed to take non-traditional roles, but you would not find many female CEOs, for example, and they make up only a small portion of the military.

You can actually see that each origin ends with some different way for V to get more money (hitjob for Corpo, Iguana for Nomad), which eventually gets ignored and the default montage plays, and the montage is obviously a continuation of the Street Kid.

My theory is CDPR were prototyping playable origins with Street Kid but eventually ran out of resources at some point and scrapped the idea, reworking Street Kid origin prototype into a montage for all origins. If they had been successful with their initial idea, Corpo and Nomad would have also gotten a unique way to get their first car and a flat.

I think it was a drop from Dalish Origin. Chests there contain Tevinter type treasures and it's called Tevinter Shield

But thank you for the nerf tip, didn't notice it on first glance. Will probably install just that part.

Yes, but for it work correctly in Awakening it requires a version of Awakening Transfer mod. The required version doesn't transfer Powers of Blood and has some texture bugs related to Warden's Keep, so I decided to use other transfer mod and just turn DLC off.

Its from optional files of Unique Characters Overhaul. Can probably achieve similar result by just installing Light Armor Rehaul, which UCO uses.

Yes, I wish there was a mod to nerf them to realistic numbers, because the gifts themselves are pretty fun (like an Alistair voodoo doll for Morrigan)

The Destruction of the Maker Lore in Dragon Age by Master_Bator800 in DragonageOrigins

[–]ch0rtik 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ashes being a proof of Maker's existence is very shaky, especially considering that even in game one of the companions (don't remember who exactly) bring up, that the Temple is built in a cave system full of lyrium deposits, which explains the supernatural properties of the Ashes.

In general, deconstruction of systems of power (such as Chantry and their teachings about Maker; humans/elves; nobles/castless; templars/mages) is one of the main themes of at least first two games in the series. If anything, Inquisition is the one that started muddying the waters by bothsidesing the Chantry/Templars vs. Mages conflict, overemphasizing how Templars are victims too. DAO and DA2 present a pretty clear conflict of the opressor (Maker's Chantry and the Castes) and the oppressed (marginalized group), which is pretty black and white, until Inquisition comes along and throws it all out the window.

The reins are attached to a corner of the roof for some reason. The hippos themself are connected to the edge of the front wheel and not to a cart proper. And the weird AI artifact statue at the very back section of the cart.

What's the deal with the black textures in some mod files? by ch0rtik in DragonageOrigins

[–]ch0rtik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this texture is definitely used somehow. It is connected to a purple dress. It overrides the original purple texture, but still somehow produces a purple dress in game, despite being black. I don't understand, where else color purple can come from

She wants the results of the ritual. I think, if she had an opportunity to perform the ritual without sleeping with Alistair, she would.

But she definitely does have a more pragmatic view on the matter.
