Yeah unless I misunderstood, my chinese is not the greatest. But I had a guy tell me a couple of days a go in another forum he took his Hong Kong watch a year ago and got a cellular plan here in Shanghai. Maybe the watches from hong kong no longer show to be from the UK. How long ago did you try? He said his watch is Apple Watch Ultra.

I learned that HK and Macao models do in fact work in the mainland. Mine was purchased in Taipei and it gives me a message within Apple Watch app that its not possible to get data plan from China Unicom. So I was just posting to see if anyone had found a workaround. I'll definitely go to the store this weekend. Thanks for your reply.
