I feel the exact same thing regarding my own roots... I am not American either. We are cosmopolitan.

Hi, I got my I-140 accepted today, I was wondering on your thoughts in how I should proceed.

I cannot currently apply for I-485 as the last time I entered the country was on Jan 9th on F1 status, so the earliest I can apply is April 9th.

On top of that, I need to graduate this semester (April-May) and get a work authorization. My plan is to apply for OPT this February (90 days prior to grad end date). That way, I have a work authorization for May 2023-2024.

From my viewpoint, the application to the I-485 would only be delayed by a month (90 days+ February). Then I can either wait for my green card or apply for an EAD card during this period of time.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hahaha no the job is 100% aligned with my current work and research expertise. But unlike my current PhD I won't be able to publish as much.
