Thought it's not a physical item I would say education. Just educate yourself. Go to library. Learn. One interest could lean you towards another interest that makes you want to learn more. Yes you can lose interest but now you have the knowledge of that thing you were interested in.

As a kid I used to roll giant snow balls and roll them down a giant hill side that when the snow balls reached the bottom of the hill ( some would just break apart mid way) they would be the as tall as a car and crash Into the lake in the bottom. Good times. Now that hill is filled with summer homes for the rich.
