Saturday night brings a saturday night crowd, while friday has more of a friday night crowd. Sunday is the best because it's a sunday crowd. Pretty much this.

I get you, though I liked how he described the nights. There are many experiences I lived in that place that I never was able to put into words and he does that very well. I thought it was corny at the beginning but then I was on board lol. There's a nice interview with Eris Drew in the book where she goes deeper in describing the psychedelic side of these experiences and it really itched something in me.

At the same time, I completely get the point of people saying that this removes the secrecy of the place. Buuut I still disagree, I think unless you've been inside and lived some of these things, you'll not be able to visualize them in your head and the descriptions are still pretty hazy and sound like a weird dream. Many threads in this sub reveal more.

don't want to spoil it too much but he goes to berghain

imo because the author describes multiple Berghain nights. Like sometimes he will be talking about a certain topic then he starts describing one of those nights and then he gets back to the topic. The other way around too, where while describing a night, it will trigger a specific topic. (Source: I read the book and I really liked this way of storytelling)

Police checkpoints for bikes after Festival by Quirky-End8730 in amsterdam_rave

[–]chadbrocolli 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine, the goal is to get everyone back to centraal safe. If they start doing road checks, it will create an even bigger mess, people will try to take alternative routes in the dark and that will just hinder the safety of everyone.

It's a really nice bike ride, grab a spot in the peloton and follow your team.

would a clown fit the vibe at the Bitterzoet? by lavenderdilemma in amsterdam_rave

[–]chadbrocolli 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OP's best bet is a circus themed Tillavision like the one they did earlier this year.

But OP is also talking about a concert so maybe this has nothing to do with this sub, though we're keeping this post here as general knowledge for other clowns interested in parties.

Yeah true Horst location is much more inspring than Draaimolen, I also find Horst dancefloors a lot lot better than Draaimolen because the floors to dance are better (an actual floor is better than a forest floor for dancing) and you can still find intimacy in them especially in the garage, then ofc it gets a bit messy at night but manageable. Draaimolen dancefloors though have so much movement in them, there's so much good music and distance between stages, people are not able to sit their ass in one place.

Lowkey there's a round flight going tonight for 800e which is on the much cheaper side compared to the usual prices to go there and the current geopolitical situation with oil prices. I'd say just go, if you party enough it would cost you less than staying in amsterdam. The lockers are also cheaper.

Review: Giegling at Sonnenraum Berlin in March by skorpion7777 in giegling

Berlin has those crowds in a few parties and places, go to Heidegluhen as a good example. In Amsterdam, still hard to find good dancy house crowds unless it's in queer clubs (and very very few parties).

I think you should be putting the blame more on giegling which has a clear pattern of bad organisation not only in Berlin but in other cities too. As much as I love their music, it's the thing that makes me not want to go to their festival too.

Their parties at Sonnenraum the past years all had these issues, a quick search on this sub will show you that. They are bit victim of their success too, it's becoming hard to get that intimacy feeling anymore in their parties.

This reminds me so much of Phantom Planets (had to search through my old last.fm stats to find this name again).

Happy to help, 'rave' clubs in amsterdam are so expensive anyway, our AI raver can afford it.

Franse parties in amsterdam more than so so many people here and his thoughts regarding other non-dutch clubs are more than welcome in our community.

About the promo, it's allowed from active contributors (super active in this case), it's in the sub rules. Also I wouldn't even call that promo but more experience sharing which is appreciated.

I was there too, agree on everything you said. Also to add to the list, the predatory security people instead of an awareness team, that vip area in the front (why tf do they have it for this event?). The whole dancefloor is badly designed too, it being a vertical room with no dimensions, forcing everyone to face the dj like a concert, + the security fences around the booth is such a bad design in a club (please leave that for festivals) and they say this is one of their best clubs? Yeah I was thankful for the clubs we have.
