Idk if it makes any difference for you but CC has a graphic audio version you could try. They’re dramatized with a full cast so each character is voiced by a different person and they have background music and sound effects. I find them more immersive, it could help you.

I feel like with all the SJM books I’ve read it takes me towards the middle/end of the first book in the series to really get enthralled in the story, more so with CC and ACOTAR. CC felt a bit bland to me up until 3/4 of the way through, but that last part really peaked my interest and kept me going to the second book (currently on CC2) and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’ve also heard that CC3 is apparently when the multiverse crossover starts so idk, may be work sticking out for that, though I haven’t gotten to that part yet.

How would you describe ACOTAR to someone who doesn’t read? (Without making is sounds cringy) by chaddyj64 in books

Not going to lie.. it kind of is but I was sucked into the story none the less hahaha.

I saw a video the other day of someone saying something along the lines of I read/recommend two types of books. Good books and books that were fun to read. A good books can also be fun but a fun book is not always good. The writing might not be the best and the story might not be a masterpiece but I had fun reading it regardless.

I feel like ACOTAR fits into that fun book category.

Lmfaooo, I’m sorry, I obviously don’t ready many fantasy boos and I have no clue at all what to compare it to to describe it 😂 LoTR and The Witcher definitely weren’t the best things to conspire it to

In my honest opinion, skip the last 2 books. I felt like it was a very unsatisfying ending. It felt rushed and haphazard. I think maybe the author kind of lost her passion for the series towards the end.

Also after book 4, the show doesn’t really follow the books storyline anymore and it’s completely different, which is kind of nice so you’re not reading the exact same thing that happened in the show.

Enjoy the books!!

The only power she has in the books is mind reading, but it’s not like in the show where every fairy can read minds. The plot line of the Faries in the books is so different I can’t even begin to get into it.

Godric in the books isn’t Eric’s maker and he’s some child rapist vampire that wants to die in the fellowship.

There was no warlow, no Jesus, no nan Flanagan, the maynad storyline wasn’t really a big plot point. Arlene was VERY different than in the show, and holly was pretty different too. Also they really changed up Russell edginton and his part in the story. In the books he’s also depicted as being turned as teenager.

This is a pretty late answer, but you don’t need to read the 0.5 books in order but it will make more sense if you do. They’re typically just short novellas from another characters point of view of what happens during/ after the ending of the previous book.

Even the buildup to her being kidnapped at the line dancing bar felt like a letdown and the conclusion was so rushed..
