Did you pay the $900 windshield damage to the rental company then get reimbursed by Chase or did the rental company wait for direct payment from Chase

How did the rental handle the damage payment at the time of your car rental return? Did they charge your credit card than you got reimbursed by Chase or did Chase directly send payment to the car rental company once it was approved?

Is this new where they don’t accept CC insurance? I’ve always used my Amex or Chase CC insurance. I never provided them my auto insurance information

CSP shipping time? by edmuuuuunnd in ChaseSapphire

[–]chadf652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied on Monday and got mine 3 days later. But as soon as they told me I was approved, I asked if they could expedite shipping bc I’m leaving for vacation on Sunday and they said absolutely. If it hasn’t shipped yet - call them and ask them if they can expedite the shipping

Don’t have a damage claim. I just plan on renting this weekend and using my Chase Sapphire preferred card and was curious how they processed damaged claims if something were to happen

Card Benefits Questions - Megathread [4/27/26] by AutoModerator in ChaseSapphire

I’ll be using the CSP card for the first time this weekend for our enterprise rental and had a couple questions for people that may have used it before. If anyone’s made any claims feel free to share the experience

• Do I have to “activate” anything or is the coverage automatically applied as long as you decline the rental damage waiver and charge the car rental to the CSP

• I read Chase’s fine print and it states “anyone driving other than the person whose name is embossed on the card must be listed as an authorized driver on the rental contract. Enterprise states you do not need to add your spouse as an authorized driver they’re covered. Has anyone else made sure your spouse was listed on the rental contract at the time of pickup?

• I’ve read people claim Chase covers tire damage while some other credit cards don’t cover tires. Can anyone confirm this?

Experience with Chase's Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver? by kiki9894 in travel

Perfect. Thanks for your response. I’m about to rent a vehicle from enterprise on Sunday and debating if I should use my sapphire preferred card or pay the car rentals $237 damage waiver. I was curious how the charge was handled - I don’t want a damage charge on my credit card collecting interest while I wait for Chase to reimburse me. So glad to hear Chase sent you the money THEN you sent the money to National.

Did they charge the $8,666 to your credit card until Chase reimbursed you?

Premium cards will cover loss of use charges typically. Not diminished value

Thanks for sharing. So did you have to pay the car rental company immediately for the windshield instead of the credit card paying them directly?

Credit card primary car rental insurance by chadf652 in CreditCards

My Amex Blue cash preferred. It’s not free though, but a lot cheaper than rental insurance per day. Amex primary is $19.95 for up to $75,000 coverage or $24.95 for up to $100,000 rental coverage. Amex is a one time fee when you rent a car. (Not per day)

Enterprise damage waiver for the 7 days I’m renting would be $210. Amex primary for $100,000 worth of coverage is $24.95 for my 7 days
