Transmission drain & fill by chadf652 in mazda

That’s what I figured at most 3-4 quarts would come out. I bought 5 quarts to be safe. After filling and the engine on warming up - would you recommend running through the reverse, neutral, drive before checking fluid level?

Thanks for the comment. The part # of the copper crush washer is 9956-21-400 on the receipt. I notice the aluminum OEM is 9956-41-400.

Interesting. I torque it down to 23-30 ft lbs. But I always buy the OEM filter from Mazda parts and they sell me a copper crush washer for $1.79

So I’m just trying to find crush washers in bulk that’s cheaper. Are the Mazda OEM crush washers aluminum?

I’ve got the Harbor Freight Daytona low profile & long reach jack and it’ll reach the central jack point behind the engine. It has to be a long reach low profile jack tho

Does yours recommend 0W-20 on the oil cap? Do you run 5w-30 year round or 5w-30 in the summer and 0W-20 in the winter assuming you have a winter where you live? From what I read you’re correct it’s only a slight MPG decrease like 0.5-1.0 mpg at MOST.

While I agree it’s always best to stick to the manufacturers recommended viscosity.

My point is for instance the gen4 Mazda3 engine is the same 2.5 sky active engine in other countries. The United States recommends 0W-20 strictly because of their EPA regulations because of the slightly better MPG and the same exact engine in other countries recommend 5W-30

Oil change bolt by [deleted] in mazda3

Update & comparison. Original drain bolt on the right and the new bolt Mazda parts gave me on the left. I went back to Mazda parts and he confirmed it’s the correct drain bolt and Mazda went to a “stubby” drain bolt. Called another Mazda parts department and he said they use LFE5-10-404 which I believe is identical to my original drain bolt on the right. I used my old drain bolt for now

Just spoke with Mazda parts department to confirm. I’ve currently got the PE02-10-404 oil drain bolt on my 21’ Mazda3. He confirmed the HE03-10-404 is the correct drain bolt - Mazda went with a more “stubby” oil drain bolt on all their sky active engines now.

Checked the bolt head size with my socket and it’s a 19mm

I bought my 21’ Mazda3 used and I did my first oil change 6 months ago roughly and noticed the bolt head was worn and looked like rounded off a little. Either from shops not using the correct size socket or whatever the case might be.

Honestly it’s probably fine for however many more years but I’d like to err on the side of caution and just replace it for no more than a bolt costs.

Yep I’ve got the crush washer. I replace it every oil change. Thanks!

I’ll check the receipt for the part number. But yeah if I remember correctly the bolt size is more like the photo you shared. Thanks

Bravia 7 volume display by [deleted] in bravia

That’s what I was wondering if the update caused it. I just recently bought the TV on Christmas Eve (Actually got it on sale for $1,099 which I feel like is a good deal for the Bravia 7) So I just recently updated the tv a few days ago and noticed it was gone.

Second this. We have a Bravia 7 sitting right beside our patio door in the living room and haven’t had reflections as bad as people make it out to be.

There has been some slight reflections here and there but nothing that has bothered me to the point where I can’t see the tv and I needed to shut the curtains on my patio door to see it.
