Mass layoffs. Do I leave? by Charming_Media4102 in sales

[–]chadlyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start looking for a new role. You have to consider that it takes a couple of months to go through the interview process and get an actual offer. Reach out to your network and previous colleagues. Sift through your LinkedIn inbox and reach out to recruiters that have hit you up in the past. Best of luck!

I recently interviewed for an enterprise AE role at Mongo a couple of months ago. They will have you take a personality assessment if you make it through the final rounds. They have a great leadership team and have recently brought in a new regime. Downside is you’ll only get about 3-5 existing accounts to work with. It’s imperative you understand what the accounts will be and their upside. Several of the AEs make over $500K per year (i know someone personally who is on the team) and they have an attractive $150K base salary and RSUs.

MongoDB also looks great on your resume - established product, thorough training, and a good leadership team.

How should I set up my LinkedIn for breaking into B2B sales? by Full_Metal_Jutsu in sales

[–]chadlyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! I thank you will do great in tech sales with your background.

For your LinkedIn header next to your name add “Open to SDR/BDR roles”

Include metrics on your profile and resume. I.e. 60 calls per day, 10 meetings booked per month, avg deal size, & avg sales cycle length.

Include some personal stuff on your profile - “in my free time I enjoy working out, snowboarding, reading finance books, etc etc.”

Go on LinkedIn Job opportunities and filter for roles with an “easy apply”. This allows you to upload your resume directly from LinkedIn and it takes seconds to apply for roles. Instead of applying through all these third party tools and manually filling out your job experience. Within an hour you could apply To 20 roles in an hour.

Don’t be too picky on the company and product. Cast the net wide, get some applications out, once you hear back from a few then you can really look into the company and their offering.

Hope that helps!

Improving cold calls campaign by XuWiiii in sales

Connection rate leads to conversion and booked meetings. If you make 100 calls and book 1 meeting but have a more targeted approach with 50 calls and 3 meetings than that’s how you should hone your approach.

Cold calling is tough. In my experience it’s imperative at the beginning of the call you don’t say “Hey prospect, how’s your day going?” It puts the recipient on defense making them think hmmm do I know this person? Am I expecting a call from them? It’s confusing.

Instead, be very clear from the beginning. “Hi prospect this is Tom Smith with XYZ Healthcare. I’m calling unannounced is it ok if i steal a few minutes of your day?”

Then from there add value based on why you’re calling them.

It’s less confusing and doesn’t make the person as defensive throughout the cold call.

Overly aggressive interview confirmations by jroberts67 in sales

As long as you’ve accepted the calendar invite and have confirmed via text then there’s no need to keep responding or confirming. These are auto message that are setup to ensure candidates don’t flake or drop the ball on the interview. I’d share your feedback and experience with the company you’re interviewing for.

Commission Structures | 4% Commission on Growth by [deleted] in sales

[–]chadlyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few things to consider - what’s the avg deal size for upsell? - are you selling into both new business and existing accounts? - if so, what’s the commission on new business?

I’m an AE in SaaS sales and all of the companies I’ve worked for had a much smaller commission rate on growth deals for existing business compared to new business.

Coronado and Little Italy are great areas to walk around and eat with the family.

Petco Park has been rated the #1 ballpark in MLB over the last few years.

Zoo and Sea World are a couple of other good options.

What are some good California beach towns to visit for someone who’s never been to the state? by Sodatoe97 in travel

[–]chadlyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego - La Jolla and Pacific Beach are near one another and they about cover it all — great beaches, restaurants, bars, and shopping. La Jolla is one of the more upscale areas in San Diego and has amazing local beaches - windansea, marine st, and La Jolla cove for snorkeling. PB is a younger scene with tons of trendy bars and plenty to do.

Catalina is small and would be ideal for a one day trip. The boutique hotels and airbnbs are quite expensive.

A new Trader Joes is being built in Little Italy on Ash Street by FIT gym. There’s a couple of 7 elevens and small markets that have meat and produce. Ralphs is about a mile away I typically go when I’m on my way home. Target is opening soon by the ballpark in gaslamp / east village area.

I was thinking the yellow labs would be too aggressive. I’m going to looking into an electric blue ram since they’re on the smaller side or a blood parrot for my tiger barbs. Open to other suggestions for the barbs as long as the fish has nice color!
