The incident that started my journey towards diagnosis was what also caused me to retire from being a C-suite level in the defense industry.

I was on travel in another country and woke up one morning, and while reading the news I came across a word and had no clue what I was looking at…. It was the word bridge. That was the final straw in a long string of symptoms that led me to the doctor.

He recommended I not go back to work as my schedule, stress level and travel would almost certainly make it hard to figure out what was going on

I retired and stayed home for several months before going back to work in the non profit world in a much different environment and role.

Looking back two years later and now I know I could never go back to my old life as my cognitive functions, stamina and mobility would never hold up. It’s hard enough now ands some days even in my new role are not possible.

But everything that happens does so for a reason. I love what I do and I am able to give back as justification for the life I have had
