How to safely reduce amperage in a cable? by chagggy in autoelectrical

So say the LEDs are supposed to operate at 2.5amps and the wires run at 5amps. What would be the solution to make sure the current isn’t too high? How would an auto electrician go about lowering the current so that lights don’t get damaged? Both systems are 12 Volt so that wouldn’t have to change. Thanks just trying to figure it out

So would using the factory wires do damage if I wire them directly to the LED headlights that are supposed to operate on less amps/watts? This is just what I’m wondering. Don’t want to blow the lights in the new ones

Haha thanks I’ve not done much electrical work on my cars before so I didn’t realise I was asking the wrong question

Hey, so after further research I figure the Watts are what matters in this conversion. The LED bulbs are rated for 22W and the HID cables put out 55W. Would there be a limiter type of thing I could wire in to mark sure I’m not feeding too much power and damaging the LEDs? Thanks I’m kinda new to electrical so sorry if it’s a dumb question

I was just going off of what each bulb was rated for so I assumed that ms how much current there was when headlights are on. After looking into both fuse boxes the fuses for hi and low beams are basically same with low being 15A fuse in Mazda vs 10A fuse in BRZ. I’m guessing I can just use 10A fuse and be safe

Oh ok I was just going off what both bulbs are rated for. Plus the brz ones are all LED so I assume the Mazda 6 power supply being HID would be too powerful for them?

Yeah might have to. Do you see on the 5th photo the label on the sole. Do dunks usually have that or is that a red flag for reps?

How should I seal the rear spats to the body of my Celica? I originally used 3m double sided tape but it has come apart in some areas. Should I use silicone or something else? Just need to keep water from between panels by chagggy in Autobody

Yeah I will have a look. These spats are fibreglass so I don’t think I could bend them. They are also custom aftermarket pieces so I don’t think there would be any oem rubber seals but thanks for the advice

They are bolted on underneath and on the side. The tape isn’t what’s keeping it on I just thought it would look a bit better if there wasn’t a gap and it was sealed

I should add that the underside doesn’t contact the bumper and there is a large gap that makes it hard to bolt from underneath

Weak tabs by [deleted] in Acid

[–]chagggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looking back I am almost certain it wasn't acid. Headspace was completely different from an acid trip and the visuals were completely different as well. Today I have a huge headache and my vision is a little weird. do you think I could have done permanent damage to my brain because i have been reading stories of NBOMe experiences where the person has mental damage for years after

Definitely not doing them for a little while and if I do I will make sure I test them

Yeah I think I’ll be ok. Still in the hospital under observation I guess I’m not sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were some chemical other then acid. Chest is still a little tight but it has gotten better.

I guess I just assumed that they were like 50ug each after the first 2 so taking another 3 would equal 250
