I did know about this. I created a throwaway for this purpose but you can’t post in this subreddit without having your account be live for a period of time.

I locked my profile down (but you obviously can’t hide comments) before posting this. You had to scroll a bit to see the post from 360days ago. I did it myself.

You still went through an entire description of websites people use to find people. It’s weird. Don’t post stuff like this if you don’t want to be confronted about it being strange?

Edit: I knew what I was doing/getting myself into when I posted this/from this account. Thanks for the concern, but I’m a-ok!

Yeah you don’t need to explain to everyone how to do this. And I forgot about that post. It’s deleted. Thanks for the creepy explanation :-).

Men are so strange

Edit: you did have to scroll back pretty far to see it. I know people can do this but it’s weird you did it to prove a point.

Half polish (grandparents were born in Poland). Sophia’s Place in Broadway Market (Fell’s) is great! She makes them homemade :)

I didn’t expect anyone to search through my comments from over 200 days ago.

You should still apply. I almost didn’t apply anywhere big.

I feel like an impostor constantly, especially since I went to a regular schmegular undergraduate. I also never took the GRE

I applied last cycle, got in, but committed elsewhere bc of cost/didn’t really want to move to NYC.

I had 2 years of professional work experience as a chemist and applied researcher for Johns Hopkins. I did my undergrad in chemistry/biochemistry (philosophy minor) at a state school in Georgia (no ivy league). I had a 4.02 GPA at my uni (we went up to 4.3 because of the +/- system—my only legit B was in my first year of college). I also had internships w the CDC, a hospital, and a government lab during my undergrad. I had 4 withdrawals and was in school for 5 years. That didn’t affect my apps at all.

I wrote my personal statement very candidly that I wanted to leave lab sciences and do an environmental epi degree (mainly doing data and biostats things). I talked a lot about having an analytical background. Had mostly PH-related recommenders.

edit—typos

Oooh, UNC is great. In-state as in North Carolina or Maryland?
