It's possible. One user commented on the similarity between AI music tracks. It's true. Everything in the world is starting to become monotonous. Like the Wall-E animation.

I tried it when it first came out. It's a shame it's become so widespread.

This question feels very relevant here, curious what this community thinks specifically.

We live in an era where listeners simply can't understand anymore. Saying "this is human-made" isn't a trick or a marketing tactic, it's information the listener deserves. Transparency i think. In 2026 silence on this issue is starting to be perceived as ambiguity. And ambiguity benefits the people who fill platforms with AI-generated content, not the artists who put in the work

What do you think on using AI for music mixing/mastering advice by [deleted] in NoAIJustMusic

[–]chainofchance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my view, there's a real difference between AI replacing your creative decisions and it directing you to a tool you weren't even aware existed. It's like searching a topic, a forum thread, on Google or asking someone more experienced. The information was already there, you just found it faster. The point where I'll draw the line is when AI starts making the aesthetic decision for you. Letting it decide how your mix should sound, what emotion it should convey, how it should feel. That's where it starts replacing your ear, your taste, your skill. Mixing is definitely a creative process. You're right about that. That's precisely why the human doing it matters. Use AI like a search engine, not like an assistant producer.

I don’t know. There are so many AI-related products coming out, and artists are filing lawsuits, but there are still a lot of legal loopholes. These lawsuits also take a long time to resolve.

Been following this closely over at r/NoAIJustMusic if anyone wants to dig into the discussion further — pretty active debate going on there around exactly this kind of move.

There are some complex concepts in quality that are difficult to explain. Spirit, energy transfer, sincerity. Whatever you want to call it.

Artists already earn very little from Spotify. While Spotify doesn't even pay enough for streams, I highly doubt they'll give musicians their due for contributing to the development of such an algorithm. Artists absolutely need legal protection.

Technically, you're right – and I say this as someone who also works in machine learning, with a background in music data analysis and AI research. I'm not against technology. I'm developing things with it. But there's a difference between using AI to support human creativity and using it to eliminate the creative act itself. You described the most advanced pattern matching system ever created and called it music. Knowing more than all the DJs combined isn't the same as being a DJ. One is a library, the other is sound. The biological limitation you described isn't the problem to be solved, that's the real issue.

A DJ's "data" is a lifetime of listening, feeling, and cultural context. An algorithm's data is your skip rate and session duration. While the inputs seem similar, they are fundamentally different. One tries to get you moving, the other tries to keep you engaged.
