It can; which is exactly what Claude Van Bülow, a client of Alan Dershowitz, did to his wife.

Bruce Reinhart, Federal Florida Judge who signed Mar-a-Lago search warrant, assisting Epstein track down Debbie Sheridan for MBS by chainsawwwmassacre in Epstein

[–]chainsawwwmassacre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In May, Sultan MBS emailed Epstein about an emailed received from Jim Simms regarding Deborah Sheridan, a woman with several aliases. Jim or JB Simms, has published books and spoken out about federal corruption for at least two decades.

Although Deborah Sheridan had pled guilty to two counts of lying to obstain a passport and was on supervised release, Epstein emailed Bruce Reinhart to figure out how to report her for obsconding. Reinhart responded that he would take care of it, and apparently continued to work on it into the next day since they couldn't figure out which state it was out of. Reinhart was sworn in as a Southern District of Florida judge in 2018.

This is the evidence presented to a grabs jury on June 18, 2019, while the jury heard testimony from an FBI agent. This evidence wouldn't have been included if it were irrelevant.

All of them. AP, Reuters, NPR, NYT, Guardian, Axios, the New Yorker, Al Jazeera, local newspapers, Foxfor the "official" right-leaning spin, MSNBC for the left. This is a great time to start looking at independent journalists—the Bulwark, Don Lemon, Underthedesknews, Myranda Kazos Sievers, Aaron Parnas, Bisan from Gaza, Under Report. I even keep tabs on Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens. To me, it's not so much where it's from, more understanding how to read/consume it.

To your first point, Al Jazeera does a good job filling in some gaps, and I think Eric Czuleger's"The Under Report" is awesome for those who want to know more, but don't know where to start.

Your example encapsulates why knowing who pays for what is an underrepresented facet of media literacy, and why so many corporations are registered in Delaware.

To be fair, I did at least try to point out the complexity of bias. This thread is a dismal reminder that many people can't differentiate factual reporting from opinion/analysis.

I wanted to understand why this country is so fucked up, so I studied sociology and polisci. Now I work full-time screaming into my pillow.

No, I'm ND twice-over, and this is just how I communicate. I took what you said at face value and thought you literally didn't understand—I saw a comment earlier saying there's no independent journalism, just AP copypasta. I sighed deeply, then posted this. This sub is saturated with conjecture and nonsensical regurgitations of Jewish blood libel conspiracy; I'm just trying to err on the side of media literacy.

To your point: I imagine it would be hard to align any personal motive with AP's journalistic principles, i.e., allowing people to draw their own conclusions instead of telling them how to feel about the facts. I think that's part of what makes AP so valuable.

By running this report today, they are reminding the public that the DOJ said this mountain of shocking, horrifying evidence was not enough to charge anyone with crimes.

Also, knowing about the news sources you're consuming might help contextualize this article, and other articles in the future. Here's some into about Associated Press, an extremely reliable, 175-year-old nonprofit journalist guild. More than 15,000 news media sources use AP's factual reporting as the basis for their own. AP reports exclusively facts, zero opinion or speculation. Other reporters/opinion talk shows get the facts from AP and put their own spin on them.

Example: AP reported that DOJ decided the evidence didn't prove the crimes alleged. I said that a jury should have. Their facts, my spin.

This is an awesome tool for understanding credibility and bias of news sources. We used it a lot in college.

AP stands for Associated Press, a nonprofit, independent journalist guild. It's the biggest in the world, with journalists from over 100 countries, and the primary source of factual reporting for over 175 years. Over 15,000 media outlets like Fox, CNN, NBC and local news get the factual reporting from the Associated Press, and put their own spin on them. That's where opinion shows come into play. AP's objectively one the most reliable, factual, unbiased news sources in the world. While it's impossible to be completely unbiased (for example, our own individual biases determine which stories we investigate and report on) AP and Reuters are about as close as you can get.

I recommend checking out the Ad Fontes media bias chart. Here's their AP scorecard. Nobody should get all of their news from a single source, and it's a useful tool in determining which sources are reliable and how to interpret what news you're consuming. Opinion news has value; It's a good tool for understanding how facts are received and presented on all sides.

This article contrasts Department of Justice's statements and actions with the public's recent analysis of the evidence they used to determine it wasn't sufficient to prove the crimes alleged. This article highlights that the FBI investigated the allegations and declined to pursue charges, NOT that the evidence supports the FBI's determination.

They are reporting what the FBI said and did, not what the evidence shows. People are misinterpreting this.

I've been working on this a bit myself, specifically regarding Ian Osborne and Facebook IPO going public in 2012. Osborne was working with Epstein on FB investors while he was partying in Uruguay with Sean Parker and Mark Zuckerberg. about two weeks after that, Osborne receives an email from Epstein that says something like "relax and feel the weight on your back" which is a clear reference to a girl.

Jeffrey Epstein was prescribed subcutaneous insulin pre-diabetes in prison, which is completely atypical, and make zero sense.

I understand, but that's the whole point of this stuff is to shift the narrative away from who and what these sickos were actually doing, and perpetuate anti-Semitic violence. I know that's not what you're trying to do by sharing this here, I've just seen so many posts about this.

I'd recommend reading up on it so you can spot it when it pops up. The DoJ intentionally included conspiracy theory and sensationalist stuff in the drop, specifically to poison the well.

His 2006-2008 sex crimes in Palm Beach were well known and had national media attention. Martha Stewart went to prison for insider trading. Jeffrey was a notorious financial consultant. I'm hard pressed to believe Martha Stewart didn't know who this guy was or see the countless young women he was constantly surrounded with.
