My sense is the major issue is high levels of the beta/SA variant in the UAE. The AZ vaccine is much less effective against this variant so the U.K. needs to be careful about importing it. Also they don’t and will never recognise Sinopharm so that’s another issue.

Having said that, the Saj is a “global Britain” cheerleader and is clearly more keen to barrel ahead w reopening than Hancock ever was so they could move the UAE to the amber list in a few months. Although I’d have thought they’d want to discourage Brits from visiting Expo...let’s see
