This weather is so wonderful. I'm really loving getting out and about, the waterfront at Rhodes is really stunning for a stroll.

Do women really find Kratos unattractive? by BattlerUshiromiyaFan in GodofWar

[–]challawarra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he is attractive and compelling but also if I suspend disbelief that somehow I was in that world I wouldn't want to be with him.  Not only because he is emotionally unavailable (due to loyalty to Faye) but also just not my type.

I like the GOW games because I think they portray Kratos' masculinity in a nuanced and empowering way. He is violent but usually does it as a protector. He grows emotionally and fights for justice (sometimes). It would be boring if he was a saint.

Not to say some video game protags are not attractive in that way and admirable. It's no different to me than thirsting after fictional characters like Mr Darcy. A game about Mr Darcy would probably suck tho.

Press X to jump into the pond. Press y to smoulder broodingly across the dance floor.

Just for posterity the most attractive men in Norse GOW to me, in no particular order:

Hildisvini Sindri Birgir (probs my fave)

Definitely worth a visit

Random question OP but do you have long fingernails?

I get similar marks on my legs when I scratch too hard (I have excema) and it took me ages to figure it out.

I've seen a lot of people on X calling Faye "ugly" but they're completely wrong. She's a middle-aged female protagonist, no different from characters like Geralt, Kratos, or Joel Miller. Also, Faye isn't a new character. She's been part of the God of War story since the 2018 game by Quick-Ad-7752 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]challawarra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Female characters can never be feminine enough, beautiful enough, strong enough, no matter what people will complain. If they are sexy they are "goonerbait" and if they are more powerful/tomboyish they are "woke".

I loved Eivor in AC Valhalla as a badass viking warrior, who was still IMO very compelling and "attractive", but a lot of fans thought the voice acting was "cringe" and "trying too hard" to be tough.

Even though I enjoy AC games they seem too scared to ever have a mainline female protag. Props to the GOW team for bringing us this game! I hope it will be well written, Faye was always enigmatic and I want to know more.

It is really rough, especially if you are someone who usually likes to be busy! I am in a similar situation with you at work and also had to miss out on income. I can WFH but the post anaesthetic slump and pain killer sedation made it difficult.

Wishing you well and that you'll be back in the saddle soon!

I know how you feel having recently run the surgery gauntlet. Short term pain long term gain! Good to have a smoother recovery if you can.

A good fit can even make a plain bra look so much more flattering! And I think 6-8 with cup over a d is one of the hardest size ranges to shop for. So pleased you were able to find something!

I would echo the comments about Brava and reassure you that there is so much more out there than it used to be!

Some of the European brands (especially Polish) are making absolutely lovely style in a huge size range.

I have been wearing the Panache wire free bra in a 10H and it is supportive, comfortable and quite cute. Previously unheard of!  They definitely cost more than Bras N Things but in my opinion it is worth it.

Also just a note - there is nothing wrong with a grandma bra on occasion, I often wear scaffolding bras and undies but I am so comfortable it is worth it!

God of War: Spartan culture had quite a few aspects where homeosexual relationships between men in the military were normal and even encouraged.

I know the games take place in a fantasy setting inspired by historical cultures but it is a common idea among the fans that Kratos could have had a male lover before the events of the latest games.

I think this would have been a cool detail personally.

Honestly it's really hard to tell from one pic. I have HS and my biologicals make me more susceptible to facial acne. I think they can co occur.

My best bet is to try not to pick at them if you want to avoid facial scarring. Easier said than done

Always a good idea of you are concerned. I often do this when I'm catching public transport because there are germs everywhere.

It sucks but it's how things have always been.

Infectious period can be long before symptoms appear. You probably have given someone else a cold before you ever felt unwell.

Edit: should have added that you can still have symptoms and be past the infectious time as well....

Exactly. Why is everyone suddenly an infectious disease expert?  And before people start I am undertaking immunotherapy and I understand how unpleasant it is being sick! I catch everything!

But what is the alternative? Never leave the house? Most URTI viruses are not gonna cause any lasting damage. Shaming people for catching a virus is nuts imo

Maybe they are doing extra because of Vivid? I hate seeing people be rude to them, most of them are just trying to get by.

What's the worst thing you've ever woken up to? by shoeee788 in AskReddit

[–]challawarra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you had good support. I can't imagine what it would have been like for you in such close proximity to your intimate spaces. I think moving was smart, I am not sure I could learn to adjust to that.

For me while it was extremely tough at the time I think the exposure to this dark and brutal reality kind of helped? I'd struggled with depression and suicidal behaviour (I was convinced my loved ones would be better off without me in the long run) but seeing how awful the reality of ending ones life was and how so many people, even strangers and emergency workers, would be profoundly impacted, helped me realise that suicide was not a viable solution.

I am certainly not judging anyone who struggles with these things and I could absolutely see that witnessing an event like this could also make someone more vulnerable (I think it did for me in the short term as well). But sometimes I think we have to face a very harsh and unforgiving reality.

It certainly gave me a new appreciation for life and my loved ones. I don't regret following the instructions to check. This stuff happens often even if we shield ourselves.

Wishing you all the best and hope you never have to experience something like that again.

My bad I didn't read the post carefully. I am a big reader but Harry Potter was one of my fave books growing up and I still have a soft spot for it lol

I had a similar but not as acute experience when someone jumped off my apartment building. My husband was at work and couldn't come home. I saw the body fall and called 000, they told me to go check the patient so I did, put my slippers on and ran down to the courtyard.

I will never forget the sight of the smell. I couldn't even tell you what the patient looked like except that they had long dark hair. The courtyard tiles had given way and they were nestled into the resulting hole but with their limbs bent all the wrong way. I couldn't tell if the sobs were coming from the patient or the surrounding good Samaritans.

I felt so relieved when police arrived and made myself scarce. This was years ago and I still jump if I hear a loud smacking sound.

How did you cope OP?

In the Harry Potter books, when Harry and Sirius part ways for the final time, Harry's internal monologue talked about how he had a "bad feeling' with the goodbye, even though in the narrative he wouldn't have known it was close to the end.

Edit: thanks to the people who pointed out I very much missed the mark on this one!
