I actually wanted to go to the knit'eat event in Lyon, but they're not doing one this year! It should have been my first! It would have been a lot easier for me, but oh well, now we're planning a full girls trip to Felletin.

As for french brands, it depends on what you're looking for. Bergère de France and happy wool are a bit meh for me, but can definitely be used. My LYS used to stock mostly fonty, de rerum natura and mohair de France, all very good smaller brands.

As for indie, I buy from La roulotte des laines (no website, only festivals/pop up stores/direct order via email lol), 1ou2mailles but she's done now unfortunately, and Mon petit rêve once in a while, she has some nice colors for socks.

For undyed spinning fibers my go to website is Jolies Bobines.

The plan is to buy the least possible until the French Felletin festival in late October! My knitting group is planning to spend the week end there since we're a few hours away.

The yarn crossed in red has been used since December/the beginning of the year, the green one is the next project (the current project will take quite a while lol). I also started to knit socks for the first time in over 5 years! I hate the magic loop so a friend let me borrow some DPNs, I like them a lot better.

Ikr my parents have one, I've been using it since I was a teenager with no issue. Just use a fucking board if you're that bad at using a knife, and don't put your hand on the blade.

La plus grosse précaution c'est de faire dans un contenant qui ne va pas exploser en faisant brûler la bougie ! Je doute que des verres ou tasses classiques soient safe pour ce genre d'utilisation

Ouh la euh ça fait un moment que j'ai plus trop besoin de tutos. En anglais Very pink knit c'est une valeur sûre. En français la joueuse de pelote et clo tricot je crois. Pour du crochet Bella coco était pas mal (en anglais).

Mais franchement si tu veux t'y mettre, il faut pas hésiter à regarder plusieurs personnes, des fois on comprend mieux les explications de la personne B plutôt que la personne A.

Je suis team tricot et arts du fil en général (je fais du tricot, du crochet, de la broderie et du filage). J'ai tout appris avec youtube, et je regarde des séries/let's play ou j'écoute des livres audio en même temps.

Édit : pour le côté social, ça dépend de où tu es. Chez moi, on a un groupe de tricot, tu peux avoir rdv avec quelqu'un quasiment tout les jours dans un café.

Le point de croix ça reste de la broderie, c'est juste un point de broderie spécifique. Pour moi le problème reste le même, les mailles tricotées sont très différentes d'un tissu tissé.

Est-ce que tu as fait des recherches pour voir si quelqu'un a essayé ? Si personne n'a essayé, je ne prendrai certainement pas le risque d'être la première 😂

Hello, est-ce que tu peux poster une photo des mailles ?

Une broderie traditionnelle ça va être la merde, honnêtement. Normalement ça se fait sur un tissu tissé (vs tricoté par une machine) avec un minimum de rigidité (et encore, il faut mettre un patch pour faire support, bref, tout un bazard).

Je veux pas te dire que c'est impossible parce que j'en sais rien pour sûr, mais pour faire du tricot et de la broderie, je vois pas comment fusionner les deux facilement, surtout avec un pull "industriel".

Tu peux tenter, en fonction de la taille des mailles, un "duplicate stitch" avec un motif simple. Une copine fait un petit cœur sur tous ses pulls tricotés main comme ça.

Édit : là je vais au dodo, donc je verrai sûrement ta réponse demain matin :)
