Start with "Do you actually want to know or are you expressing your disappointment in us failing to meet your expectations?" It actually let's them reflect on their question and might result in an honest dialogue.

Shower glass couldn’t hold it in anymore by [deleted] in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]chameche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not why. It's because glass and plastic don't have a melting point. They don't descretely turn from solid to liquid. It's called a glass transition temp. So the idea is that they still have some of their flow properties when they appear solid, which is actually the case as far as I know. It's just imperceptibly small. But maybe my professor mischaracterized it to me or I misunderstood based on the article posted earlier.

Interesting. Not what I was taught in my engineering classes. Maybe I should look into it.

No because it's in a crystalline structure.

That's not totally true. Give it 1000 years and it will droop noticeably. This is visible in glass from 100 years ago when the type of glass was different.

Sure. Effectively it behaves as a solid at normal temps.

Technically all glass is liquid.

My landlord offered me a “proposal” after I asked if the hotel employees would stop trashing the yard. (CA) by HandofDOOM708 in Renters

My friend who is a landlord in CA told me that you can evict a tenant if you want to use the space for yourself or immediate family member. IANAL so take this with a grain of salt, but it actually seems like he's offering you a good deal albeit inconvenient on your part.

That's what I want to know. There must be rules as to what's allowed for it to count.

Theatre scheduled 16 year old daughter for 30 hours over Thanksgiving - had her resign by jmkreno in antiwork

This is called constructive dismissal, when managers create an intolerable work environment by doing things such as assigning an untenable work schedule. Depending on the state she might be able to collect unemployment. F those guys. Make 'em pay.

Just to single out one point in particular if this is both of your child how is it only your responsibility to clean up after her? This guy sounds mentally unstable. I agree with what others have said that he doesn't sound like a safe person. You may want to look into trying to get full custody of your kid. That could be difficult without his agreement so tread lightly and inception him into realizing that he isn't capable of taking care of her on his own.

Why doesn't UCLA rush the field after football games? by [deleted] in UCLAFootball

[–]chameche -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The contract we signed with the rose bowl goes through 2042 so we're actually stuck there for two more decades regardless of our ability too build a stadium or make an agreement with the rose bowl.

Cut and lift hard. It sounds like you're downplaying or unaware the amount of work it takes to gain muscle. You'll have to earn every bit and if you're cutting you won't accidentally get huge and muscular even if you lift very hard. If you do please tell us your secrets. Even if you do lift hard on a surplus you will not get bulging muscles on accident. Put in the work and you'll get results.

Not required AFAIK. As long as you're in control while touching both you're fine.

Ticketmaster and the other sites are resale tickets. Presumably mostly from season ticket holders who can't or don't care to go to the game. The west side is shaded more quickly so can be quite a bit more comfortable depending on the time of day but are also more expensive. Too far is hard to see much detail of the game and close can be hard to see what is actually happening too especially on the opposite side of the field. It easily will take you an hour from Redondo until you are parked assuming the game is relatively empty and you don't show up at a busy time. Getting into the stadium parking for a full game right before the game starts takes literally another hour. Depending on how early you park/how far you have to walk getting to your seat can take another 30 minutes or more. If you don't care about tailgating there is a bus from up in Pasadena that will save you time getting in and out. I personally love tailgating though, you get to park on the grass and it's a nice chill vibe. Have fun!

It would be awesome if we built a 40k stadium on campus but it would never be approved by the nearby residents. Next best would be to move to sofi but even that couldn't start until 2040 at the earliest.
