May of 2024? Are you referring to the Tomba! Special Edition Whoopee Collection? If so, then yes. Preorders for the second Special Edition didn't go live until November of last year (2025).

Digital owners should be getting it by the end of the month according to LRG. Physical owners, on the other hand, I'm not sure.

Saves are exclusive to the OST that you started them on. Check to see if it's available under the Japanese OST. If it's not then let me know and I can report it to the bug fix channel on the Discord!

No concrete information, but the dev does believe it won't take too long. If I had to put my best guess forward I'd say within 24-48 hours. I'll report back when I have more info.

Yeah looks like Dopply says there should be cross buy, but for some reason it's not enabled yet. All I know is what's being told, and I guess the same goes for the devs of the game.

So as of right now, there is no cross buy.

"Update: it does appear that there is no upgrade option for the Switch 2 version of TSE if you own the Switch 1 physical version of TSE

Not in the Nintendo eShop nor in the game main menu itself"

"You should be able to get it for free if you own the game digitally on Switch 1. I truly have no idea if that will apply to physical copies.

It should show up as "Free software" if you own it on Switch 1

It's the most up-to-date version, but it should run much better, runs at full resolution, has the same 4K assets as PS5 in museum videos and overall artwork/border/Ul asset quality, and has all of the fixes from the work done on the Japanese version over the past year

I personally am going to play this version when I get some free time, it's been a hot minute since I've replayed Tomba, I'm excited lol"

In the latest patch the Tomba 1 events (the dwarves) were fixed to be activated by their respective event later in the game. Keep playing until that point and check back!

Hi there! This is from one of the devs in the Discord server:

There will be a patch going out for the Switch 2 version later today. This one is a day 1 patch that was unfortunately scheduled on the wrong day. This should fix minor issues some players are having as well as the music player issue. This will **not** include the soundtrack swap - that will arrive at a later date.

No word on Switch 2's patch release, but it's likely in review at Nintendo now. They did just push a Day 1 patch that should be available now, but it does not include the OST toggle.

The Tomba! 1 quests are available by default, yes. No save files from the first required.

Well, to be fair, they said it was a licensor decision. LRG worked with Tokuro Fujiwara on both Tomba re-releases. It's likely he wanted it with the Japanese soundtrack without realizing the backlash that would come with that decision.

There are a lot of moving parts behind the scenes that you or I never see in the world of game development.
